In 25 years of African National Congress (ANC) rule, South Africa has become just another failed African state.

They were handed a beautiful, orderly, wealthy first world State on a silver platter in 1994. A country that was exporting to Africa, surrounding islands and foreign countries, a country that was economically, industrially and commercially viable and capable of supporting themselves. They ignored all of that and chose the path of anarchism, of over procreation, of mass-murders of the very people who grow their food and consequently harms food security.

They chose to drive the country into #StateCapture #Corruption over the fiscal cliff and into the abyss.

Think about this while listening to State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Ramaphosa on this Thursday.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – Edward Zuma is just as corrupt as his father Jacob

Edward Zuma tried to convince General Johan Booysen to “defraud” R15m worth of assets as he is a silent partner of Thoshan Panday whose assets have been frozen.

Two meetings with Jacob Zuma were fruitless as Booysen was not given the opportunity to inform Zuma of his son’s escapades.

Booysen testified before the State Capture Commission, and will apparently later testify about the corruption in South Africa which he refused to be part of.

Ramaphosa may head to the Zondo commission ‘hot seat’ to testify, will he pitch or hide, maybe his skeletons will come out the wardrobe

President Cyril Ramaphosa will “probably” take the stand when the ANC finally gets its chance to make submissions before the Zondo commission of inquiry into state capture. This is projected to happen sometime next year, towards the end of the hearings.

So says ANC treasurer-general Paul Mashatile.

Speaking to City Press on the sidelines of an election campaign in Cape Town, he said that the party “will go at the right time [to the commission]”.

“It will probably be led by the president himself to speak for the ANC because at the end of the day, the buck stops with our president,” he said.

“We have time. The commission is still busy. The ANC will probably come towards the end – maybe next year. We are not rushing there. Let people speak; we will come.”

Mashatile said many people had forgotten that the commission was the product of an ANC decision.

There is absolutely no pills for stupidity! Hlaudi Motsoeneng is singing like a canary on campaign trail: “I received more than R1 million, it is not a secret, I accept I am corrupt”

Hlaudi Motsoeneng, the former head of the SABC, had some fiery words for the ANC at his recent campaign trail in Soweto.

As reported by The Star, the leader of the African Content Movement (ACM), Motsoeneng, revealed that he would basically sing like a canary if he was ever summoned to Deputy Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo’s commission of inquiry into state capture.

“If I go to the commission [of inquiry into state capture], some of the ANC people are going to be in trouble because I was not captured by them — they tried to capture me, but I capture myself, unfortunately,” he said.

In an attempt to mask any accountability he may have carried from the looting that occurred at the SABC — with him at the helm — Motsoeneng said that he would even admit, on record, that he too is corrupt. Except, somehow, his corruption is ‘good’ corruption.

ESKOM gives a US company a blank cheque, and they are cashing it in for a whooping R13bn

The US company that designed the extremely flawed Kusile Power Station in Mpumalanga was given a blank cheque by Eskom, which it cashed in to score R12 billion.

Despite the fact that the engineering consulting firm Black & Veatch, which is situated in Kansas in the US, delivered shoddy work that continues to hobble Kusile’s performance, two senior Eskom executives told City Press last week that the company is still being paid hundreds of millions of rands.

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has launched an investigation into irregularities around the construction of the Kusile, Medupi and Ingula power stations, which cost a combined R342 billion.

A senior law enforcement official told City Press: “The second phase of the SIU’s investigation is looking at the performance of, and payments made to the value of more than R139 billion, 11 identified contractors appointed by Eskom in respect of [the] power stations”.

Guptas at it again – workers unpaid but lavish R100m double wedding planned – most likely funded by the ANC-regime?

The Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi where the Gupta family are reportedly hosting a lavish double wedding in February 2019.

The Guptas are reported to be hosting a lavish double wedding at a palatial hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The AmaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism published a nine-page wedding invitation on Friday and said the bash, an event lasting five days between February 19 and 23, could end up costing as much as R100m.

“The wedding is a double-feature, with Rajesh ‘Tony’ Gupta’s daughter Shubhangi Singhala marrying Chetan Jain and Atul Gupta’s son Srikant Singhala tying the knot with Akhya Bansal.

“This is the third publicly lavish wedding the family has funded,” said AmaBhungane.

The logos of Gupta companies in South Africa, including the Koornfontein mine where miners have gone unpaid, are featured in the wedding invitation.

Ramaphosa’s share in SA’s dilapidated state is questioned and his latest press release is inconsistent: “I did not deliberately mislead Parliament about R500 000 Bosasa donation”

President Cyril Ramaphosa, in a statement to the Public Protector, says he “did not deliberately mislead Parliament” regarding the R500 000 Bosasa contribution to his 2017 ANC presidential campaign.

The statement follows Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane confirming on January 25 that she would investigate whether Ramaphosa had lied about a campaign donation received from controversial facilities company Bosasa, now known as African Global Operations (AGO).

Mkhwebane’s decision came after DA leader Mmusi Maimane and EFF leader Julius Malema on several occasions said that Ramaphosa had lied to Parliament about the money his ANC presidential campaign received from Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson. Ramaphosa met with Mkhwebane on January 29, to discuss the donation.

Bosasa has received billions of rands in government contracts over the past decade and has been implicated in alleged corruption.

It pays to be the son of the most corrupt president SA ever had – NPA to ‘drop’ corruption charges against Duduzane Zuma

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is expected to provisionally withdraw corruption charges against former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday.

Duduzane Zuma’s lawyers have declined to comment until the court process is finalised on Thursday morning. NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane Aldo said the state would comment only after Thursday’s court proceedings. Business Day understands that the NPA sent a letter to Duduzane Zuma’s lawyers on Tuesday, notifying them of the provisional withdrawal of the charges.

The exact reason for that withdrawal is not known at this time, but follows the NPA’s decision to provisionally withdraw charges against Gupta family members and associates late in 2018, in connection with the alleged Estina Dairy Project scam.

The Secretary of the Commission investigating State capture, dr. Khotso De Wee had to go on “leave” after it was revealed that he also received Bosasa bribes.

The accusation was made on Friday, the third day of Angelo Agrizzi’s testimony before the Commission.

In addition to the accusation against the secretary, it is also another point of reference as to what extent the actual situation of corruption in South-Africa seems to be.

Agrizzi said he was informed that De Wee secretary was one of several senior officials at the Department of Justice who received Bosasa bribe money.

Observers say it now appears that the country is totally rotten because of corruption, and that this is probably just the peak of a massive iceberg corruption.

Despite, (or thanks to Billions in foreign investment in Eskom), 7.2 Million tons of SA’s best coal is destined for China from Richards Bay Harbor while South Africans suffer under rolling blackouts. 36 Chinese ships are waiting for coal to be loaded in Richards Bay Harbour. Each ship takes about 36 hours to be loaded with 200,000 tons of coal per ship average. The coal is Grade A anthracite.
