R6bn needed to renovate Gauteng hospitals – National Health Plan may be on ice

It will cost the state more than R6 billion to complete 32 hospitals’ safety rating. The decline and deterioration of hospitals is particularly seen in electrical installations, fire protection equipment, elevator regulations and storage facilities.

The condition can be attributed to contractors who do not deliver quality work and poor maintenance programs. There is concern that none of the hospitals will be able to be part of the government’s National Health Insurance Program as they are not accredited by the Office of Health Standards.

Meanwhile, Minister Tito Mboweni indicated in the mini-budget that the Health Plan is off track due to the extremely poor state of the South African economy.

Admission lists for the registration of gr. 1- and gr. 8 pupils in 2020 at Afrikaans schools in Gauteng in chaos – no room for mother tongue education

The new online application system, on which parents could apply for admission for their children between May 13 and July 22, had previously worried many organizations and unions as it left no space in which to indicate applicants’ mother tongue. Furthermore, anarchy is once again threatening at certain Afrikaans schools in the Gauteng province after the Department of Education does not comply with its own requirements for the enrolment of Gr. 1- and gr. 8 pupils in 2020.

Great dissatisfaction prevails in the province after schools on Friday received lists of learners enrolled at schools, especially schools located in the north of Pretoria. The governing body of some accuses the Department of Education of not adhering to agreements on admission policy at schools. Rising anti-mass immigration violence in Gauteng calls on political leaders to ask for military assistance to bring violence under-control – They speak out against attacks on foreigners but remain silent on farm murders

Gauteng political leaders are considering calling on the military to stop vandalism and looting in the province.

According to Gauteng Prime Minister David Makhura, criminal elements are responsible for looting shops and have been warned that the military may be called in to address the problem.

This follows after Ramaphosa requested police to bring the gunmen under control. He spoke out against attacks on foreigners but remained silent, among other things, on the farm murders.

The looters have already plundered, or burned down, many stores of foreigners in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and even children have stolen the stores without anyone being prosecuted.

Cyril remains silent as SA burns to the ground

While the unrest in the Western Cape has forced the government to deploy the unarmed soldiers of the Defense Force in the hope that the violence will stop, it is Gauteng who is leaving the area in chaos with just as much force.

The gang violence in the Western Cape has already claimed the lives of many people in recent weeks, and now the north of SA also has a violent crowd that burns shops and houses at a faster rate than the ANC can erect new buildings.

More than 20 foreign-owned stores went up in flames, but not before the looters and their children stole the usable goods.

With all this, and much more violence elsewhere, the ANC’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, is silent and frightens Africa so much that they are now boycotting the World Meeting in Cape Town.

Ramaphosa doesn’t say a single word about it either.

Malema calls for black people to redirect their xenophobic anger at ‘white capital’ – this is just another racist incitement of violence against whites

The EFF leader has responded to reports of renewed xenophobia by asking his followers to rather direct their anger at wealthy white people.

In a tweet that has been described by EFF opponents AfriForum as a “racist incitement”, Malema called for “African brothers and sisters” to rather direct their anger at the “owners of wealth … white monopoly capital”.

He was reacting to widespread reports of xenophobic attacks throughout South Africa against African immigrants, particularly in Gauteng, where five lives have now been lost.

“Our anger is directed at wrong people. Like all of us, our African brothers & sisters are selling their cheap labour for survival. The owners of our wealth is white monopoly capital; they are refusing to share it with us & the ruling party ANC protects them.#OneAfricaIsPossible,” he tweeted.

What a surprise – 38% op Police officers in Gauteng fail shooting competency tests!

With 4500 civil claims against the police in Gauteng, 139 lost service weapons and only 38% of police officials who passed their shooting competency tests, the people of Gauteng cannot trust or take the Department for Community Safety seriously.

South Africa and Gauteng are on fire. The reasons for this are infinite and call for a debate on its own. The budget allocated to the Gauteng Department for Community Safety means nothing if the officials are incompetent and if the structures are riddled with corruption.

Illegal land grabs and farm attacks are on the rise in Gauteng and the ANC government cannot offer any solutions. In Lenasia and Hekpoort, innocent people have landed in the crossfire because the ANC made opportunist yet empty promises.

White lives don’t matter! Farm-owner succumbed to injuries after he was “made to drink poison” by attackers, police did not labelled this an official farm murder but home robbery instead

Police are reluctant to label the incident as a “farm murder”, but this partcular killing of a farmer in Fochville, Gauteng is just as horrendous.

A shocking case has surfaced from Gauteng this weekend after a farm-owner in Fochville succumbed to the injuries he sustained during a brutal attack at his property. The assailants are reported have tied up, beaten and poisoned the victim before making their escape, leaving him for dead.

The local police force in Westonaria have not labelled this an official farm murder. But the SAPS have instead filed it under a “home robbery”. The devils are in the detail – including the criminals’ motivations and movements – but authorities are remaining tight-lipped about much of the investigation. The victim died on-arrival at the hospital.

Missing: Mentally unstable policeman from Kwa-Thema – how did he managed to be recruited if his mentally unstable?

Police in Kwa-Thema are appealing to the members of the public who may know the whereabouts of Constable Siphamandla Jobe (26). He was last seen on 11 July 2019, at about 05:00.

During his disappearance, he was wearing boxer shorts, yellow t-shirt, an SAPS ceremonial jacket, a tie and he was also barefoot.

The member is not mentally stable. He may be aggressive and members of the public are warned not to confront him instead they may contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.

Alliance ends, but how long will it last, since money speaks louder than political promises ?- Red Brigade wanted the mayorship in Tshwane, but DA wont surrender power to EFF

The EFF announced that they would not go into coalition with the DA in any municipalities as the DA refused their request that the red brigade receive the mayor in Pretoria.

They also said they would not partner with the ANC if votes were to be voted for.

Observers say time will tell how long the “promise” will last because money speaks louder than political promises.

The DA will not surrender the government of the City of Tshwane to the EFF, regional leader Abel Tau has said. Tau, also utility services MMC in the City’s DA-led coalition government, hit out at his EFF counterpart Moafrika Mabogwana, who has called for a fresh election in the metro.

“We don’t live in a banana republic where everyone can today decide that I am not happy with how people have voted and call for elections,” said Tau.

“In democracy, you respect democracy and wait for the next election cycle.”

ATM crime increases – Gauteng the highest with 36% and Eastern Transvaal with 17%

The SA Bank Risk Information Center has just released their statistics on crime in 2018.

The report highlights digital offenses, card fraud and violent crimes in the Banking sector. Categories highlighted are ATM attacks, associated robberies and bank robberies.

ATMs are the target where criminal methods such as explosives use to open ATMs while bank robberies have increased by 100% since 2017. Associated robberies occur when a client is robbed as soon as he withdraws from a branch and leaves the bank.

Gauteng with 36% ATM attacks occupies first place with East Transvaal in second place with 17%. to make your bank visits known to anyone else.

Another horrific farm attack occurred in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng – Nigel farmer attacked with pick-axe handle, burnt body found next to vehicle

A farmer in Nigel died after he was assaulted and his vehicle set alight, badly burning him in the process, according to officials on Friday.

The 44-year-old man, identified as Johan Pretorius by Netwerk24, was believed to have been hit with a pick-axe handle several times over the head and suffered blows to his body at around 19:30 on Thursday, said Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Johannes Ramphora.

He added that Pretorius apparently tried to run away but ended up with burn wounds. Police are investigating whether he was in the vehicle at the time.

Monitor 24 Security owner Deon Pretorius (no relation) told News24 they received a call that a bakkie was on fire.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the body of a badly burned man lying next to the vehicle.

N3 Highway between Gauteng and KZN dangerous at night, be vigilant during school holidays

Vaal Triangle and other South African motorists were warned during the school holidays not to use the N3 highway between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal at night.

The N3 toll booth says there is an increase in violent incidents on the road and motorists should rather try to plan their trips for the day. The toll road starts at the Cedara Interchange in KwaZulu-Natal and ends at the Heidelberg South Interchange in Gauteng. It is one of the busiest roads in the country.
