Another foreign tourist, another American again, is hastily returning to America after looking into the barrel of a robber’s gun on the N4 highway in Brits. A 26 year old man, his 22 year girlfriend and an American friend (40), were robbed at gunpoint after they drove over stones that were deliberately packed in the road, and had to stop to change the tyre, on Sunday morning around 02:00 on the N4 highway at Brits.
The group were returning after visiting family at Mooinooi when they had to drive over the stones. They drove on for a while and when they thought that they were safe enough, they stopped to change the tyre. When the 26 year old man got out to change the tyre, he was threatened with a gun by a black man who suddenly appeared. The 3 occupants of the car convinced the attacker that they would just leave him with the car and everything, after which they went to hide in some bushes.
