Leninism comes to SA: The COVID19 crisis is not only making Black South africans realise that the ANC are the african version of champagne socialists, i.e. despots who make false promises and will let their own people starve, but it is also exposing the ANC’s overt racism. The ANC openly says they won’t assist white small business owners with emergency or taxpayer funds unless they “transform enough”!

A spokeswoman for the Department of Tourism has admitted that no government COVID19 assistance will be given to any white owner of a business in the tourism sector. The department made R200 Million available for small and medium sized businesses in the tourism sector so that they can apply for funds in the lockdown period. Businesses in the tourism sector like guesthouses and tour operators cannot make any money because of the lockdown regulations and the restriction of international flights.

Not safe for tourists in SA – Israeli woman gang-raped while on holiday in Mpumalanga

An Israeli tourist was gang-raped while on holiday in Mpumalanga at the weekend, police said on Monday.

Two of the woman’s companions were robbed during the ordeal, which took place at their holiday accommodation.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said on Monday that officers were still on the hunt for four men who attacked the three tourists at a Graskop lodge.

He said the gang attacked the woman and the couple. The men demanded that they take off their clothes.

“The men raped the woman and also robbed the three of their personal belongings before fleeing the scene,” Hlathi said.

No arrests have been made.

ANC downplays the crisis of attacks and murderers of tourists in South Africa

It is shocking that the Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, has tried to downplay the attacks on and murders of tourists in South Africa as mere ‘isolated incidents’ and it is even more shocking that the Ministry of Tourism now has to make plans to combat it while combating crime is actually the police’s responsibility.

According to media reports, there have been 14 crime-related attacks since the beginning of this year just on Table Mountain alone. Over the last few years, there have been numerous incidents in which people were injured and even killed.

In the latest incident, a man from the Ukraine, Ivan Ivanov, was murdered last week while hiking at the popular East Fort above Chapman’s Peak.

The police must explain its inability to combat crime in general. Minister Kubayi-Ngubane confirmed that there is a crime-problem concerning tourists as she said that her Department is busy ‘finalising a strategy’ (EWN 5 Augustus 20

Rats infest Durban CBD because of uncollected rubbish on the streets, Business and tourism now being threatened

Durban – Traders in the City centre say their businesses and health have been affected by the huge rat population that has continued to grow because of uncollected rubbish on the streets.

They say there has been an overall decline in business and tourism while the condition of buildings has also deteriorated. Areas popular with hawkers such as Warwick Junction Market, Mahatma Gandhi precinct, Berea and Durban Workshop taxi ranks as well as bus terminals have been most affected.

Pinky Nyathela, who trades at the Warwick Junction Market, said the number of rats had tripled since she began trading in 2016. “There are more rats than usual and they are becoming bigger. They are not scared of people, they look straight at you,” she said.

Health experts said the rat infestation posed a great risk which could “explode” if not brought under control.

WATCH |Teacher in SA monitoring grade 11 pupils writing mid year exams, with gun

The teacher from Mabusabela Secondary School was monitoring grade 11 pupils writing the mid-year tourism paper.

A team of psychologists was still on the ground giving counselling services to learners at a Mpumalanga school where a teacher was seen invigilating with a gun.

In a video that was widely shared online, the teacher could be seen walking between the desks with a gun in his hand.

The 26-year-old male teacher has been suspended and a criminal case has been opened against him.

Mpumalanga Education Department’s Jesper Zwane said the school also launched its own probe.

“When the investigation is completed, we’ll get the recommendations from the investigating team. We have not given them the time frames, but we’ve asked them to give it the urgency it deserves.”

Report from Statistics South Africa has shown a negative trend in the tourism sector.

The South African attraction
South Africa is a beautiful and diverse country. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that it has been a popular tourist destination with global travellers since it rejoined the international stage in 1994.

So much so, in fact, that is has become a crucial sector of the economy and provides strong social and economic value to millions of locals in South Africa every year.

The net result of this is that facts and figures pertaining to the industry are keenly watched and the published findings from Stats SA do not make for optimistic reading.

The ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa wants to open South Africa’s borders and believes it is good to promote tourism as visa requirements prevent African tourists from visiting the country.

His ignorance about tourism figures and those visiting the country is clear when looking at which countries’ tourists really visit South Africa and spend money here.

Europe and the US are some of the countries that provide tourists who really visit the country and spend money here during the holidays.

The Africans are flowing into the country to tarnish the prosperity of others, members of the opposition, but it apparently does not impress the president.

WHO DIDN’T CHECK THE CALENDAR? – Ramaphosa just killed Indaba 2019 – Biggest tourism expo to take place on the general election date

Ramaphosa stood up in Parliament on Thursday and emphasized the importance of tourism. And then he killed 2019 tourism.

When he decided on a general election on 8 May, didn’t any body bother to look at the calendar? Indaba, the biggest tourism expo in South Africa, usually the destination for foreign investors and visitors, takes place on 8 May.

And arrangements are now too far to re-schedule or postpone. Cancelling would cost millions, not only in wasted funds, but in lost revenue.

A number of influential people in the tourism world indicated that they will not be attending this year, on the one hand because they need to be home for voting day, on the other: Why go to the expense of setting up a stall at Indaba if nobody is going to be there?

Ramaphosa just killed Indaba 2019. And the tourism industry will feel the effects. How is it possible that such elementary things cannot be considered while trying to govern a country?
