BREAKING NEWS: Sans Souci teacher will keep her job after hitting learner

Justice served, it’s been confirmed that the Sans Souci teacher who smacked a pupil will be allowed to return to her role at the school.

The teacher who was filmed smacking a student at Sans Souci Girls High in Cape Town has been allowed to return to the classroom, little over a month after her suspension.

Clarissa Venter, 34, has also appeared in court alongside the 16-year-old she got into an altercation with. The case has been postponed until 18 April, but the school’s governing body has decided to stand by their educator.

“The disciplinary process has now concluded and the SGB has ratified its decision that the teacher receives a fine, final warning and anger management sessions. She will now return to work at the start of the 2nd term on the 2nd April” Jessica Shelver, the spokesperson to Education MEC, Debbie Schafer, noted in a statement.

A day of activism at Clifton Beach descended into acrimony after a group of protesters marked the occasion by slaughtering a sheep at the Cape Town tourist hot-spot.

Demonstrators had gathered in their hundreds during Friday, to take action against the alleged racist employment of a private security company on one of Clifton’s secluded beaches.

Those affected were mainly people of colour, and even included local ANC figure Faiez Jacobs. They were shifted on by the PPA firm earlier this week, in what has been described as an “affront” to citizens’ rights.

Stadium in Cape Town, which was built for the 2010 Fifa football cup, is basically unused and is a burden on taxpayers and bankrupt municipalities

The Cape Town Stadium, built for the 2010 Fifa World Soccer Cup, is a white elephant and is managed by huge losses.

Now the Cape Town Council has allocated millions for the appointment of a company secretary and financial manager.

R2.5 million a year has been approved for the two posts. Even JP Smith of the Mayors’ Security and Security Committee expressed concern for further funding and warned that it would put a burden on taxpayers.

An elderly couple in Bonnievale, Western Cape, have become the latest victims of a farm murder in South Africa. Both Piet and Elmien Steyn were shot dead in their beds while they slept, as the farm murderers raided the property and stole a vehicle that belonged to the pair.

More Corruption and Bribery at Traffic Department – Hawks arrest another bunch of corrupt traffic officials in Khayalitsha

The Hawks arrested seven traffic officials for issuing drivers licenses for payment. A security guard and six female test officers will appear in court on complaints of fraud and corruption.

The violations at Khayalitsha have taken place since January 2015 and October 2018. It appears that these types of offenses are not eradicated, as licensing officers are shortly arrested for the same complaints.
