Running Faster: A noteworthy piece posted on social media, claims to be from ex Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, although this is improbable, given she holds a chair in Social Justice at Stellenbosch University and would get fired if she dared spoke truth like this. However the source is irrelevant. It insightfully calls on blacks to stop using racism as a crutch and an excuse. Like SA-News has been saying, blacks need to take off their BBBEE nappy and grow up and raise their game. Otherwise they will never be equal because they will never see themselves as equal, instead of always seeing themselves as the victim, and constantly crying, or trying to profit from hurtful words. Liberal whites who constantly proclaim blacks are victims, are in effect saying they are superior to blacks and that blacks can’t survive without their virtue signaling!

Sexual harassment at schools worsens, learners and teachers are targeted

It is not only children who are sexually harassed by teachers, because there are also hundreds of incidents of teaching staff harassed by pupils.

During the past financial year, the Department of Education dealt with 633 cases where teachers were harassed.

In a series of social media posts, warnings have been issued to all those guilty of the crime, but experts say the government’s actions speak of a reluctance to resolve the crisis.

According to a report to the parliamentary committee, 32 teachers were fired because of their involvement in sexual harassment, of which there are several incidents of rape.

Of all the incidents brought against teachers, only 101 cases were subject to disciplinary hearing, of which only 67 were found guilty.

Concerns have been expressed about the large increase in incidents while action against the culprits is only a small percentage.

No wonder Lesufi wants to place pupils in Afrikaans schools – Gauteng Education accused of failing pupils by allowing ‘shocking’ school conditions

The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Monday said the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was failing pupils by allowing poor conditions to persist in schools.

The DA’s shadow MEC for infrastructure development and property management in the province, Alan Fuchs, made the statement following an oversight visit to the Apex Primary School in Lenasia. Fuchs visited the school with councillor Dave Dewes.

“This is not the first complaint about this particular school or the first site visit. In January of this year, the DA’s shadow MEC for education in Gauteng, Khume Ramulifho MPL, together with the former constituency head, and councillors, visited the school but were denied entry,” said Fuchs.

“This obstructive attitude by the school management and the poor state of the school was reported to the GDE, which responded by undertaking to deal with the concerns raised.”

The government’s grand move to have “progressed” matric pupils write their exams over two years has bombed – only 8% passed

The results of these pupils, who were pushed into matric after failing grade 11 more than once, were disclosed to the Sunday Times by the department of basic education last week.

SA’s latest matric pass rate is 8%. It was achieved by “progressed” pupils — those pushed into grade 12 after failing grade 11 more than once — and who were given two years to write matric.

Of the 78,363 of these pupils who wrote their final school exams in November and June, 6,320 passed.

Education experts who spoke to the Sunday Times this week said the pupils had been set up for failure because the plan was based on an incorrect assumption that a lowered workload would lead to better results.

ANC-government wants to close down about 3,000 schools’ doors due to a reduction learner numbers

The Department of Basic Education is aiming to close a few thousand schools due to the reduction in student numbers.

The schools that are affected the most in the country have apparently received notice that a certain number of pupils are required to keep a school’s doors open.

The majority of schools are located in rural areas, and the Eastern Cape is most affected by the arrangement.

According to a spokesperson for the Department, a primary school should have no less than 135 pupils, and secondary schools should have more than 225 pupils.

Investigations show that about 3,000 schools are likely to be affected, meaning pupils should be enrolled elsewhere.

African mentality in SA exceeds all expectations – Is there still environment where education can take place peacefully – Violence is destroying education system, burning down schools in black neighbourhoods is increasing

Violence in and at schools is destroying the education system of the country. The burning down of schools in black neighbourhoods is one of the increasing trends. As residents become angry about service delivery, schools and libraries are being burnt down.

One of the major problem that currently exists is cases of assault and murder on school grounds. In Johannesburg, a 16-year-old pupil was stabbed to death by a fellow scholar last week.

Furthermore, there were cases in Pietersburg, Tlhabane, Mondeor and Lentegeur where attacks on scholars by scholars occurred. Calls now come from communities that schools should be placed under police and / or military guard. Is it an environment where education and especially education can take place peacefully?

On a positive note, in the years of the existence of the Movement of Christian People’s Education, there was no incident of violence at the 35 CVO schools under their control.

It’s totally ridiculous, at least better than the new Life Orientation curriculum – New school subjects to be introduced after the ANC regime commited itself to “revolutionizing skills”

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the government is committed to “revolution in skills”.

This is done to train people who will produce “human capital”. According to the president, the following subjects will be introduced to schools.

Data Science, Ledger Technology and Analysis, Additives Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Quantum Technology and Cryptography.

Cryptography is a very inefficient database system to make the Bitcoin puzzle work. Artificial intelligence is described as machine intelligence. How, who and when to introduce the subjects is not clear.

Videos of Cape pupils having sex ‘at school’ go viral – If this is shocking, then think what will happen with the new Life Skills curriculum being introduced to schools in near feature

Videos in which Cape Town pupils are having sex at two different schools “have spread like wildfire” on social media.

However, education authorities say they cannot investigate as the one incident apparently took place outside the school, and the other has not been brought to the principal’s attention yet.

In the first video, a teenage boy and girl were caught by a man who filmed them on a balcony and then scolded them for having sex out in the open.

The teens are dressed in the uniform of a Mitchells Plain high school and no nudity is evident.

The boy is seen sitting flat on the ground, his back against a wall, and the girl straddles him, her grey school skirt hiked up.

The pupils got a huge fright when the man addressed them, asking them what they were doing, and the girl tries to hide her face.

South Africa’s education system has another problem: As many as one in 10 teachers at public schools are AWOL on any given day

The Department of Basic Education has published its latest School Monitoring Survey, showing where the country’s schools are improving and also where things are getting worse.

The survey was commissioned by the department in 2017, and sought to measure the progress of public schools through to 2019.

Across the major indicators, the department measured areas of concern including vacant teaching posts, teacher absenteeism, access to books and libraries, the functionality of school governing bodies, and the effectiveness of national exams.

While some areas showed improvement since the previous survey (2011), others underlined growing problems.

According to the department, on the positive side, access to libraries has increased across South Africa’s schools – even more so in poorer areas.

The unbridled destruction and vandalism of schools continues in South Africa and already costs the taxpayer millions of Rands – Yet the Afrikanas insist on quality education and free education while continuing their looting

During the December holidays at least 27 schools in the Western Cape were damaged by thieves and vandals.

Copper pipes, electrical cables and computer equipment are the most important of the stolen goods. The damage is estimated at R600,000. Vandalism continues despite increased security at schools.

Many schools in the rest of the country also suffered, and one newly built school, which was opened at the beginning of this year, also suffered.

It is worrying that the Afrikanas steal, destroy and plunder everything in our country. Yet, they are the first to get upset when quality education is not available and insist on free education. When the facilities and children’s aids are freely available they broke it  n down, loot and even burn it in some cases. It’s just another proof that they don’t think beyond their noses. At the end of the day, the community and children is suffering from their stupidity.

Does MEC for Education really have our children’s best interests at heart – Lesufi is going to leave 14 000 learners stranded- Latest action by the department is contrary to the Constitution which clearly states that every person has the right to basic education

The FF Plus was shocked to learn that the Gauteng Department of Education announced earlier on 15 January 2019, that learners who still do not have a place at a school only have until this Friday 18 January 2019, to accept the placements offered by the Department.

This threat serves as proof that the MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi, does not care about the future of the children in the province.

If Lesufi really did have our children’s best interests at heart and if he really was concerned about their education and training, he would not have allowed his Department to broadcast such threats.

The Department did not perform its duty to ensure that every child in Gauteng has been offered a space for learning at a school. If Lesufi had done his job like he was supposed to, enough schools would have been built in the last five years and we would not have this crisis on hand where there are 14 000 learners who will most probably have nowhere
