Controversial Panyaza Lesufi’s online registration system plunges schools across SA into total chaos

The placement of pupils by the Department of Education has created new crises, leaving parents and pupils furious.

Cases have been reported from certain schools in the Central Transvaal region that are hopelessly overcrowded, which have apparently been criticized for evading the truth many pupils have not even be placed yet.

What is alarming, however, is that pupils are so misplaced that they are now up to 40 km away from the school they have to travel to every day.

The chaos that prevailed at many schools on the first day of school was fiercely denied by Gauteng spokesperson Lesufi of the education department

Educators believe that whites should immediately take their children out of the crowded classrooms and place them in private schools where adequate space and good teaching methods are applied.

Another black school up in flames reducing the number of schools for black learners

Another school was burned down by the country’s “barbarians” reducing the number of schools meant for blacks.

The school, located in the Vanderbijlpark location, is an elementary school that suddenly leaves a large number of pupils without a classroom.

Although the authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident, it is the work of vandals who decided to burn down the school just a day before the first day of the term.

The Tokelo Secondary School in Evaton, started burning in the early hours of the morning, and no trace of the culprits was found.

The fire reportedly caused a loss of more than R4m and repairs are only expected to begin after the investigation has been completed.

Grade 9 Certificate almost official – learners will now be able to leave school sooner and of course unemployment rate will also rise

Cyril Ramaphosa approved the proposed education policy that allows learners to leave school in grade 9.  The move will allow learners to obtain a Grade 9 certificate and enter the workforce.

Angie Motshekga criticized her proposal for her fierce criticism but it now becomes official ANC policy. According to Ramaphosa, the move will focus on integrating learners sooner into the country’s workforce and the country’s economy.

With a matric certificate already worth little more than the paper on which it is printed, the step should be seen as an attempt to “improve” matric results due to a large number of learners leaving school at an early age.

Educators point out that the matrices do not find work, and that the Grade 9 pupils that leave school will increase the unemployment rate that will affect t SA to be graded more quickly to junk status in the economic field.

The government are trying to kill rumours and denies that the minimum pass requirements for math for gr. 7 to gr. 9 are reduced to 20%. However, education unions believe this is not the biggest concern facing this sector at present.

Angered pupils ‘burn down Durban school’ after getting ‘bad marks’

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has condemned the burning down of Zwelinjani Secondary School in Durban, after pupils allegedly became enraged over poor marks they had received.

“There are claims that the fire started after chaos erupted when school reports were issued to learners who felt that the results they had obtained were not what they deserved. The learners allegedly accused teachers of giving them bad marks,” department spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa said on Thursday after the incident.

He said emergency services had been called out to Zwelinjani Secondary School in Zwelibomvu, in the Pinetown District, earlier in the day.

“Emergency teams have responded to fire incidents at the school. Buildings that were destroyed by fire include the office of the school principal, the school kitchen and staff room.”

Gauteng is in chaos following controversial Lesufi’s plans to place white children in black neighborhoods

The controversial Minister of Education in Gauteng that plans to place whites in black residential schools is a complete failure and with only four days left, many children will not know where to go on the first school day of 2020.

Although Panyaza Lesufi vehemently denies that this is his intention, educators point out that he has by no means taken into account the proven system of children going to the school closest to their place of residence.

His system of putting children online is a huge failure, and hundreds of children have not yet been placed in any school on Monday.

Nearly 9,000 scholars have yet to be notified where they will be placed, and many parents have decided to avoid the chaos and now want to put their children in CVO schools.

However, Panyaza Lesufi’s assurance that every child will be placed has led to several schools now facing overcrowding, which is putting quality education back into question.

Limpopo school that failed to reach a 50% matric pass rate has allegedly fabricated marks even though the pupils have not written for exams

Whistle-blower says school fabricated the English examination marks of grades 8, 9 and 11. He says pupils did not even sit for the exams

A Limpopo school that has failed to reach a 50% matric pass for the past three years allegedly fabricated English marks for grades 8, 9 and 11 in March.

The allegation about the fabricated marks was made by Michael Mosomane to the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) as part of his submission, which City Press has seen, challenging the termination of his contract by the education department in May.

Mosomane was employed in January as a temporary accounting teacher at Nakedi Secondary in De Vrede village about 130km outside of Polokwane.

He told City Press that he had initially reported the matter to the education department’s offices in Polokwane on May 6 to raise the alarm, but he received no feedback.

No wonder Lesufi wants to place pupils in Afrikaans schools – Gauteng Education accused of failing pupils by allowing ‘shocking’ school conditions

The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Monday said the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was failing pupils by allowing poor conditions to persist in schools.

The DA’s shadow MEC for infrastructure development and property management in the province, Alan Fuchs, made the statement following an oversight visit to the Apex Primary School in Lenasia. Fuchs visited the school with councillor Dave Dewes.

“This is not the first complaint about this particular school or the first site visit. In January of this year, the DA’s shadow MEC for education in Gauteng, Khume Ramulifho MPL, together with the former constituency head, and councillors, visited the school but were denied entry,” said Fuchs.

“This obstructive attitude by the school management and the poor state of the school was reported to the GDE, which responded by undertaking to deal with the concerns raised.”

Verwoerd Smiling at Education Department Antics – Failing pupils in foundation phase must be put through to next grade so that their human dignity is not compromised

The opinion of an ANC education minister could harm the future of thousands of pupils in such a way that they will struggle for life in the work environment. 

It is suggested that pupils who fail grade one, two and three should be transferred to the next grade so that their human dignity is not compromised.

Educators say it will severely harm such pupils’ foundations and  that they will struggle throughout the school career, and eventually also struggle to find a good job.

The ANC apparently wants to try to get the votes and support of the parents with such poor decisions, but such children will be disadvantaged for good, he said. They will become dependent on the state for life, which is a communist goal…

The government’s grand move to have “progressed” matric pupils write their exams over two years has bombed – only 8% passed

The results of these pupils, who were pushed into matric after failing grade 11 more than once, were disclosed to the Sunday Times by the department of basic education last week.

SA’s latest matric pass rate is 8%. It was achieved by “progressed” pupils — those pushed into grade 12 after failing grade 11 more than once — and who were given two years to write matric.

Of the 78,363 of these pupils who wrote their final school exams in November and June, 6,320 passed.

Education experts who spoke to the Sunday Times this week said the pupils had been set up for failure because the plan was based on an incorrect assumption that a lowered workload would lead to better results.

ANC-government wants to close down about 3,000 schools’ doors due to a reduction learner numbers

The Department of Basic Education is aiming to close a few thousand schools due to the reduction in student numbers.

The schools that are affected the most in the country have apparently received notice that a certain number of pupils are required to keep a school’s doors open.

The majority of schools are located in rural areas, and the Eastern Cape is most affected by the arrangement.

According to a spokesperson for the Department, a primary school should have no less than 135 pupils, and secondary schools should have more than 225 pupils.

Investigations show that about 3,000 schools are likely to be affected, meaning pupils should be enrolled elsewhere.

African mentality in SA exceeds all expectations – Is there still environment where education can take place peacefully – Violence is destroying education system, burning down schools in black neighbourhoods is increasing

Violence in and at schools is destroying the education system of the country. The burning down of schools in black neighbourhoods is one of the increasing trends. As residents become angry about service delivery, schools and libraries are being burnt down.

One of the major problem that currently exists is cases of assault and murder on school grounds. In Johannesburg, a 16-year-old pupil was stabbed to death by a fellow scholar last week.

Furthermore, there were cases in Pietersburg, Tlhabane, Mondeor and Lentegeur where attacks on scholars by scholars occurred. Calls now come from communities that schools should be placed under police and / or military guard. Is it an environment where education and especially education can take place peacefully?

On a positive note, in the years of the existence of the Movement of Christian People’s Education, there was no incident of violence at the 35 CVO schools under their control.
