When Wolves Guard The Sheep: Public Protectors Birthday Party More Like A Who’s Who of Shady Criminals
The controversial Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who seems to be the Public Protector in name only, recently celebrated her 50th birthday, but invited guests were people who should be considered “questionable” friends given her position.
She ended up in the crossfire over her birthday party’s guest list, and experts believe it is rather people who should be investigated by the Public Protector for their possible share in various corruption incidents.
Some of the “strange friends” are people accused of being involved in corruption and bribery, some of whom were dismissed by the ANC president from their posts as members of the 2018 cabinet such as Bongani Bongo, who was accused of bribery and corruption, and later fired, was one of her birthday friends.

Are the nails in the coffin for controversial Public Protector?
The controversial Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, appears to have counted the days when considering the reaction of certain members of parliament after the matter of her eligibility as OB was tabled.
The National Assembly’s speaker, Thandi Modise, approved that Parliament follow the procedures that could lead to the OB’s dismissal.
Busisiwe Mkhwebane is probably the most important reason why the parliament in 2019 laid down rules to be followed when removing the OB from office.
The process is apparently underway, and opposition parties, excluding the Red Brigade, are expected to strongly demand that she be removed from her post, especially in light of the numerous court cases she lost due to incorrect information being investigated reports were recorded.

Public Protector is being sued for R350 000 – this while she’s still unable to pay the previous claims
A complainant who allegedly approached the Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, about an incident 10 years ago now wants to file a claim of R350,000 against her because she was unwilling to investigate the matter.
The complainant allegedly made a case against a senior member of the Limpopo Office of the Public Protector, and won the case.
The complainant, one Nchaube Peter Seabi, alleges that the head of the OB office in the northern province, Hamilton Samuel, insulted in the OB office in 2011 but that the Public Protector refused to investigate the matter.
However, the matter is quite confused, and whether the complainant can be a strong case against the PP will learn the time.

Public Protector received money from Guptas, but denied that she was corrupt
The Public Protector has denied allegations that she is corrupt and has received money from the Guptas in the past.
Busisiwe Mkhwebane is accused of receiving about R5,000 from the Guptas two years before her appointment as OB.
It is not mentioned whether she received the amount monthly, but it is suspected that she may have received it more than once.
However, she said they should take all her bank statements from the FNB and prove that she got money from the Guptas.
A non-profit foreign organization made the allegations, but besides it further adversely affects her chances of being in the post, it has international consequences for South Africa.

Constitutional Court says Public Protector is incompetent for her post
The Legal Practice Board was requested by Accountability Now (AN), a non-profit organization, to remove the name of the Public Protector (PP), Busisiwe Mkhwebane, from the advocates.
It follows the Constitutional Court’s ruling that she had acted and lied under oath. Adv Paul Hoffman, a director at AN, said in a letter to the Legal Practice Council that the findings against the PP are serious and final and that her honesty, integrity and competency as PP is affected.
Dr Pieter Groenewald, leader of the FF Plus says that the ruling and findings of the Constitutional Court this morning against the Public Protector (PP), Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who has, among other things, exceeded her mandate, is damning and in fact she says she is incompetent for office as South Africa’s EM.
The Constitutional Court found this morning that the Public Prosecutor’s Office had issued a “large amount of untruths” in the case an

Thuli Madonsela: where is the Gupta Waterkloof landing report? – The former public protector questions why successor Busisiwe Mkhwebane closed the Gupta landing probe that sent shock waves through SA
The former and current public protectors continue to butt heads, this time over the Gupta family’s controversial aeroplane landing.
Former public protector Thuli Madonsela has continued to weigh in on the work of her successor, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, this time calling into question her office’s decision to close the investigation into the Gupta family’s hugely controversial 2013 aeroplane landing at Waterkloof Air Force Base, according to a report in Business Day.
Madonsela told the publication that the Waterkloof investigation had been completed and that all that remained was for Mkhwebane to issue a report.
The former public protector said she reached out to the office after Mkhwebane reportedly incorrectly claimed that there was no public protector investigation into the matter, adding that her office went on to then close the investigation.
The reasons for this, according to Madonsela, are a “mystery”.
Mkhwebane, meanwhi

Public Protector Mkhwebane does a Hlaudi: ‘Only God can remove me’ – her utterances and general approach have left a bitter taste in the mouths of South Africans
The Public Protector of South Africa, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, has remained defiant in the face of staunch criticism, claiming that her position of power and influence is sanctioned by God. It’s been an admittedly turbulent year for the Public Protector’s office. Numerous reports and orders of remedial action, concerning highly politicised controversies, have been challenged in..

Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s Nightmare – Position as Public Protector at Risk Due to Deceptive Reports
The Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, probably has sleepless nights and a lot of nightmares over her own report condemning Pravin Gordhan.
If the court case from Pravin Gordhan instigates to honor his name after the OB has accused him of unlawful conduct in her report, it could mean the end of her career.
She has already been criticized and condemned by the Constitutional Court that she has acted unconstitutional and her report has therefore been declared invalid.
Now she faces the law with Gordhan’s case in the Court of Audit, which she does not dare to lose, otherwise she will probably also lose her post as Public Protector.
The previous lawsuit reacted sharply to her “unconstitutional” actions, and experts began to argue in the media that she was not fit for office in which Jacob Zuma had appointed her.
She is known to be (or is) a Zuma fan while Gordhan is a Ramaphosa supporter.

Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s expertise questioned with her report on Vrede Dairy Farm project and action to rather protect perpetrators than prosecute them
The South African Public Protector appointed by Jacob Zuma after the exit of Madonsela’s actions is so suspicious that political experts question her expertise in office.
This follows after the High Court in Pretoria declared that the Public Protector’s report on the Vrede Dairy Farm project is unconstitutional and invalid.
Opinion polls believe that the Public Protector’s report has been drafted to provide protection to the perpetrators, and the Zuma regime wants to be obedient instead of capturing a professional finding on paper.
More than R200 million of taxpayers’ money was used to fund the “black empowerment project”, which was eventually identified as another corruption project.
Some of the money was allegedly paid over to the controversial Guptas, and the dairy farm workers did not receive a single cent.

Public Protecter wants clear Gordhan’s name after accusations that he was involved in so-called privatization of the SA Reserve Bank
The Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, said she was only trying clear Minister Pravin Gordhan’s name to end a dispute.
Mkhwebane alleges that the minister interferes with her investigation after Gordhan putted his legal representative on her.
The investigation is being conducted following the so-called privatization of the SA Reserve Bank which the minister has been accused of.
Earlier, the Public Protecter extended the time to Gordhan to respond to allegations that he was involved in the matter, claiming that she had the opportunity to clear the minister’s name.
She told the media that the minister should rather be pleased that the matter was being brought to a conclusion, but then he started interfering in the investigation of a complaint that was being put to the EFF.
