South-Africa: Since apartheid was abolished, 1,000,000 people have been raped, 500,000 killed

According to the Institute of Racial Relations (IRV), crime statistics look like a low-intensity civil war and SA is still losing the fight against crime.

The people of the country are living under an impending cloud of anarchy every day. The Institute shows that murders have risen to 21,000 over the past year and SA is being compared to a country like Syria. The rape figure looks even worse with two rapes for each murder committed. Since apartheid was abolished, 1,000,000 people have been raped and 500,000 killed.

Commercial crime increased by 14%. More than 83,000 cases have been reported to the police. The offenses include fraud, corruption, money laundering, forgery and cyber crimes. Robberies have exceeded the 140,000 notch while truck hijackings show more than 1,180 reported cases.

Regiments Capital used to plunder the Transnet pension fund – R349m ‘stolen’ from pensioners in four days

After allegations emerged in court of yet another scam that Regiments Capital used to plunder a Transnet pension fund, Regiments directors quickly agreed to pay half a billion rand to settle all the fund’s claims against it. But Eric Wood, a former director, has gone to court to quash the deal, claiming his former colleagues are using the company’s money to save themselves, leaving him to face the music.

Regiments Capital has agreed to an astounding R500 million settlement with the Transnet Second Defined Benefit Fund (TSDBF).

Regiments is a financial services company that scored hundreds of millions of rands in business from Transnet with a leg-up from the Guptas and their associates.

The settlement follows the revelation of a previously unknown stratagem Regiments allegedly used to suck R349 million from the pension fund in a mere four days during late 2015 and early 2016.

12,432 SASSA beneficiaries defrauded on social grants toting up to R21 million

Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu announced in a parliamentary reply on Tuesday that about 20,787 fraud cases were registered at the Post Office by June 28 this year. Furthermore, it has also been revealed that 12 432 pensioners as well as other beneficiaries have been deceived in the past year from their social grants, collectively more than R21 million.

Liezl van der Merwe, IFP MP, wanted to know from Zulu how many fraudulent pensioners and other beneficiaries had reported to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) over the past 12 months, whether it was resolved and whether the stolen money was recovered . To which Zulu replied that criminal investigations are currently pending and that the money was never recovered.

ANC at fault for municipal chaos, collapse of infrastructure and to blame for water shortages

The single biggest reason why residents in certain municipal regions have water shortages is the chaos in municipalities across the country, particularly those under ANC governance that do not pay their water accounts.

The Minister admitted that part of the problem is the collapse of infrastructure. It is too bad that she did not also admit that it is the ANC’s fault.

It is becoming increasingly unacceptable to blame the previous dispensation. Apartheid has nothing to do with the ANC’s fraud, corruption and sheer inability to govern. Municipalities’ outstanding debt to nine different water councils currently amounts to R14 billion. The money cannot simply be written off.

SURVEY – SAPS CONSIDERED MOST CORRUPT INSTITUTION IN SA

Of the 47,000 citizens surveyed in 35 African countries, more than half believed corruption was getting worse in their country.

The Global Corruption Barometer (GCB) Africa on Thursday revealed that the South African Police Service (SAPS) is considered the most corrupt institution in the country.

The GCB is the largest, most detailed survey of citizens’ views on corruption and bribery in Africa. The survey was conducted between the end of July and September last year.

The survey also revealed that 64% of those surveyed think corruption levels increased during the past 12 months. However, overall the SAPS was considered the most corrupt institution in South Africa.

Asbestos case involving R250, million uncovered by Pieter Louis Myburg’s book, Gangster State

After several years, the apparent corruption incident with asbestos plates on houses in the Free State is finally being investigated.

The Special Investigation Unit was commissioned by ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa to investigate the matter of R250 million.

The asbestos also secreted a fine substance that can cause asbestos poisoning, but whether it is part of the investigation is unknown.

In the Free State, 33,000 residential units have been identified with roof-top asbestos plates, and the scoring company, Blackhead-Diamond Hill, is linked to the case.

The investigation was ordered after the book, Gangster State by Pieter Louis Myburgh opened the matter.

Allegations that officials and contractors have dealt illegally with the contract to inspect the asbestos home roofs will now be investigated, but observers say the matter will ultimately lead to no one’s prosecution.

Eskom now in bed with MultiChoice – Current CEO of bankrupt National Power Supplier that is plagued by corruption, fraud and money laundering, now on board of pay channel

Eskom is subject to fraud, money laundering, illegal tender awards and theft that results in the Chief Executive Officer of the entity or being dismissed or being prosecuted for all kinds of underhand operations.

The “life span” of a CEO at Eskom is not very long. Those who are still trying to get things right are resigning very quickly since workload, red tape and interference of councilors and politicians.

Now MultiChoice’s current CEO of Eskom sits at on their board. Add to this his chairmanship of Anheuser-Busch InBev Africa council, Sun International and the Casino Association of SA.

Businessmen ask when will he get time to get Eskom up, and what is MultiChoice’s motivation for his appointment?

SANDF MAJOR GENERAL ALLEGEDLY AWARDED HIS WIFE TENDER WORTH R210M

JOHANNESBURG – The South African National Defence Force (Sandf) is reportedly investigating a major general for allegedly awarding defence tender contracts to his spouse worth R210 million.

The Sunday Times reported the probe is looking into suspected fraud and corruption in contracts awarded by army boss Noel Ndhlovu to his wife’s company.

The newspaper claimed the investigation started when Sandf examined some of the tenders secured by Nomsa Ntsomdwana Ndhlovu.

In one tender for transport and military equipment, the paper said rival bidders were later revealed to be a taxi business, stationary supplier which claim to have no knowledge about any Sandf tender.

Ndhlovu is also accused of submitting false document and forging a signature.

The paper reported that she was awarded another tended this year worth R24 million to transport military equipment for services not rendered.

Correctional services: Thousands e-devices that cost taxpayers R1.8 billion rotting in storage

The department of correctional services has allegedly spent nearly R2bn on a programme to fit prisoners who are out on parole with electronic monitoring devices, but these devices remain unused because they can apparently only be fixed in Israel.

In one of the department’s most ambitious projects yet, it had hoped to electronically tag 10,000 prisoners who had been released on parole to keep them from committing more crimes, writes Jacques Pauw in the latest edition of online Afrikaans weekly Vrye Weekblad.

For several years, correctional services reported that the programme was a great success and that it heralded a new era in the management of paroled prisoners. Several times it asked parliament for more funds for the programme.

At the state capture commission, the department has been unmasked as a cash cow for the services company Bosasa, which won fraudulent contracts worth billions of rand by bribing top officials and politicians.

Prepare for total collapse, led by municipalities – recent collapses of basic services at several municipalities are not irregularities, they are omens of nationwide collapses

The recent collapses of water services in Grahamstown and the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast are not anomalies. They are harbingers of nationwide collapses.

The auditor-general, conveniently for the government, waited until after the State of the Nation address by President Cyril Ramaphosa to release his annual report. The president should be appropriately grateful.

The bad news from Kimi Makwetu is that more municipalities are near collapse and non-compliance has increased. The AG’s staff is also increasingly being threatened with violence and hampered in its work.

The good news? Well, not much.

In 25 years of African National Congress (ANC) rule, South Africa has become just another failed African state.

They were handed a beautiful, orderly, wealthy first world State on a silver platter in 1994. A country that was exporting to Africa, surrounding islands and foreign countries, a country that was economically, industrially and commercially viable and capable of supporting themselves. They ignored all of that and chose the path of anarchism, of over procreation, of mass-murders of the very people who grow their food and consequently harms food security.

They chose to drive the country into #StateCapture #Corruption over the fiscal cliff and into the abyss.

Think about this while listening to State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Ramaphosa on this Thursday.

PAY BACK THE MONEY: Gupta-Linked Trillian ordered to pay Eskom R600m as a result of an invalid deal involving corruption and fraud

JOHANNESBURG – Gupta-linked global consultancy firm Trillian capital has been ordered to pay Eskom R600 million.

In March last year, the power utility sued both Trillian and McKinsey for the repayment of almost R1.6 billion allegedly unlawfully paid to them as a result of an invalid deal involving corruption and fraud.

McKinsey has since paid back the R1 billion it received from Eskom, but Trillian vehemently opposed the application, claiming it was McKinsey’s local partner and sub-contractor and was never involved in any corruption.
