Two Western Cape police officers have been arrested for allegedly stealing a state vehicle and cloning number plates.

According to Western Cape provincial police spokesperson Andrè Traut, at around 22:30 on Thursday, officers from the Bellville police noticed two vehicles, a VW Caddy and a police Opel Corsa, that appeared “suspicious” to them.

The officers followed the two vehicles until they stopped at a house on De Grendel Avenue in Parow North.

When the occupants of the two vehicles realised the police were following them, they fled the area and were pursued until they were eventually caught.

“The VW Caddy, an official SAPS vehicle, was driven by a police constable and he had two civilian passengers. The Opel Corsa, also an official SAPS vehicle, was driven by a civilian, and his passenger was a police constable,” Traut said.

Statistics show that 16 325 vehicle hijackings were reported between March and April 2019 – Gauteng is still SA’s hijacking capital, with 23 cars taken per day

Latest statistics released by the SAPS have shown that 16 325 vehicle hijackings were reported between March and April 2019, with the bulk of these incidents occurring in Gauteng.

It has the highest number of reported hijackings per day compared to any region in the country, with 23 incidents a day.

This is followed by KwaZulu-Natal with seven per day, the Western Cape with six a day, Mpumalanga and Limpopo with two a day, and North West, Free State and Northern Cape with one a day each.

The figures reflect that at least one motorist is hijacked every 32 minutes in the country, with most hijackings occurring in home driveways.

Private security companies in Gauteng have also revealed that hijackings have become increasingly violent.

Fidelity ADT, which has partnered with the National Hijack Prevention Academy (NHPA), has seen an increase in violent hijackings in Gauteng.

Rustenburg police refuse to open trespass case for land grabbing thugs

A land grabbing situation is unfolding in the North West province, South Africa. And the Rustenburg police are refusing that the landowner open a trespassing case.

Clearly, the SAPS are not interested in protecting legal landowners property rights in the country. Afriforum is now assisting the community and the landowner.

This all whilst the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, says land grabs don’t exist in South Africa.

Shocking! 4,174 members of the SAPS have criminal records, for a variety of crimes such as assault, theft, kidnapping and fraud

Thousands of convicted criminals in the police – This was revealed in a parliamentary reply by police minister Bheki Cele, who also told parliament that among them were 32 senior managers who had convictions for crimes such as fraud, public violence and assault.

Among the rank and file of the SAPS were officers convicted for assault, theft, kidnapping and murder. In his written response, Cele did not comment specifically on murders but their existence emerged in the statistical tables attached to his response.

He was responding to parliamentary questions from DA MP Dianne Kohler Barnard who asked about the number of employees at senior management level who had criminal records. In another question she asked for numbers and a breakdown of all the types of crimes that SAPS members were convicted of.

Disgruntled SAPS members form new union and downed tools on Monday, claims that many experienced officers are being overlooked for promotion in the force

Disgruntled members of the South African Police Service have formed a new workers union. They’re threatening to down tools on Monday.

The group is unhappy about recent promotions and claims that many experienced officers are being overlooked for promotion.

These are just some of the issues raised by members of the South African Police service at a mass meeting.

Despite Bheke Cele’s assurance that there will be no protest action more than 400 SAPS engaged in protest actions in the Western Cape and Natal province.

Some officers offered letters of alleged illness for their absence in order not to be prosecuted for their participation in an illegal strike.

Cele threatened protesting members that they will be act upon, since the strike is illegal and they must return to their respective posts.

Are the police actually protecting and serving us? – Couple attacked by panga wielding terrorist, police uninterested and hesitant to investigate incident

On 18 January 2019, at about 03:15 the home of Louis Kirton was broken into in Humansdorp, at the ‘STOP N STAY’.

Kriton’s wife was surprised by the attacker and assaulted, she screamed for help and her 55 year old husband responded quickly. The attacker chopped at Louis with a panga. The panga split his arm open and broke the bones, Louis also suffered an open gash on his forehead that caused a fracture to his skull.

The attacker then fled with cell phones, laptop and food supplies. Humansdorp SAPS were contacted and arrived half an hour later and told Louis that when he is out of hospital that he should go and make a case. The whole house was full of blood and they told the residents to clean it up. They then climbed into their bakkie and drove away without investigating matter, looking around for suspects in the area or putting a guard there at the crime scene.

After numerous attempts requesting the SAPS to address the corruption and incompetence by SAPS Members regarding the death of my child NADIA STEPHANIE BOND (8) I received another e-mail from the SAPS Major General HS Burger of the WC: MI Complaints Nodal Point that they will not re-open the investigation. Which to me means that the SAPS refuses to take action against Corruption and Incompetence within it’s ranks while I have AMPLE proof thereof!

Illegal land grab incident occurred on January 12, 2019 in De Wildt, situated in the North West Province.

According to witnesses the South African Police Services (SAPS) were unresponsive, ignoring calls for help, doing nothing despite trespassing cases that have been opened.

President Ramaphosa of South Africa in September, 2018 announced in New York to main stream media at the United Nations that there are no illegal land grabs in South Africa as he was talking about foreign investments.

Illegal Land grabs happen often almost every weekend and have done for several years, this is just another example.

Let this be a lesson for South Africa, that racism isn’t colour blind – Head of basic police development, Major General Sandra Malebe-Thema found guilty of racism

The trade union Solidarity today announced that the South African Police Service (SAPS), found the Head of Basic Police Development, Major-General Sandra Malebe-Thema guilty of racism.

According to Anton van der Bijl, Head of Legal Service at Solidarity, Malebe-Thema made herself guilty of racist and humiliating remarks towards various training personnel during an event at the SAPS Training Academy in Oudtshoorn, in 2016. Van der Bijl also said that the General stated that there were too many white faces occupying positions in training and that the so-called discrimination against black students will be stopped. “During the same event she also made inappropriate comments about a selected group of personnel’s clothing and weight,” Van der Bijl confirmed.

The trade union acted immediately by submitting a formal complaint to the Human Rights Commission (HRC) in Cape Town, in November 2016. Solidarity maintained the pressure by turning to the Labour

Image went viral where woman casually wears SAPS uniform while doing groceries at a retail outlet – what a humiliation to the SAPS

An unidentified woman was pictured recently wearing the South African Police Service (SAPS) uniform in a casual way.

Twitter parody account @AdvBarryRoux shared the image earlier today. It’s unclear where it was taken. The had untucked her shirt, pulled the bottom of her pants up above her ankles, and wore sandals. She appeared to be doing her groceries at a retail outlet.

The image went viral, receiving more than 160 replies and 300 likes so far. It was also retweeted close to 160 times. Most social media users expressed disapproval at how the woman had turned the uniform into a casual outfit.
