Burning down their own schools has been a stupid part of black political expression for half a century and it is probably a good bet that these perpetrators are members of ANC youth league. It is certainly a trend when a fourth school in Gauteng has gone up in flames just during the lockdown conditions, despite supposed enhanced security conditions by the police and army to keep people in their homes! This brings the total to 22 schools in the province which have now been sabotaged, just in the 12 days of confinement. So what are they trying to achieve politically this time? Maintain their victimhood, tender fraud, or to force more “underprivileged” black kids in white schools, where education is treasured and respected, not used as a political tool?

Lesufi once again disregards rights of Afrikaans-speaking communities in Combined School in Cullinan

It is clear that Panyaza Lesufi, Gauteng MEC for Education, is continuing his assault on the Afrikaans-speaking community as he abolished Afrikaans at the Combined School in Cullinan.

According to the Gauteng Department of Education, the decision to do away with Afrikaans as medium of instruction at the school was made due to the waning number of Afrikaans learners attending the school.

The FF Plus, however, views it as scandalous that the Department has no regard for minority rights, and Afrikaans minority rights in particular. In fact, this is a case of double standards because Afrikaans schools are targeted and forced to accommodate learners who speak other languages and are even expected to build new classrooms, while Afrikaans learners are being turned away from certain other schools where Afrikaans as medium of instruction was done away with.

Controversial Panyaza Lesufi’s online registration system plunges schools across SA into total chaos

The placement of pupils by the Department of Education has created new crises, leaving parents and pupils furious.

Cases have been reported from certain schools in the Central Transvaal region that are hopelessly overcrowded, which have apparently been criticized for evading the truth many pupils have not even be placed yet.

What is alarming, however, is that pupils are so misplaced that they are now up to 40 km away from the school they have to travel to every day.

The chaos that prevailed at many schools on the first day of school was fiercely denied by Gauteng spokesperson Lesufi of the education department

Educators believe that whites should immediately take their children out of the crowded classrooms and place them in private schools where adequate space and good teaching methods are applied.

Gauteng is in chaos following controversial Lesufi’s plans to place white children in black neighborhoods

The controversial Minister of Education in Gauteng that plans to place whites in black residential schools is a complete failure and with only four days left, many children will not know where to go on the first school day of 2020.

Although Panyaza Lesufi vehemently denies that this is his intention, educators point out that he has by no means taken into account the proven system of children going to the school closest to their place of residence.

His system of putting children online is a huge failure, and hundreds of children have not yet been placed in any school on Monday.

Nearly 9,000 scholars have yet to be notified where they will be placed, and many parents have decided to avoid the chaos and now want to put their children in CVO schools.

However, Panyaza Lesufi’s assurance that every child will be placed has led to several schools now facing overcrowding, which is putting quality education back into question.

No wonder Lesufi wants to place pupils in Afrikaans schools – Gauteng Education accused of failing pupils by allowing ‘shocking’ school conditions

The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Monday said the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was failing pupils by allowing poor conditions to persist in schools.

The DA’s shadow MEC for infrastructure development and property management in the province, Alan Fuchs, made the statement following an oversight visit to the Apex Primary School in Lenasia. Fuchs visited the school with councillor Dave Dewes.

“This is not the first complaint about this particular school or the first site visit. In January of this year, the DA’s shadow MEC for education in Gauteng, Khume Ramulifho MPL, together with the former constituency head, and councillors, visited the school but were denied entry,” said Fuchs.

“This obstructive attitude by the school management and the poor state of the school was reported to the GDE, which responded by undertaking to deal with the concerns raised.”

Panyaza Lesufi slams new Afrikaans university funded by Solidarity: ‘Don’t remind us of apartheid’ – Jealousy makes you nasty!

The campus is part of the union’s education and employment projects worth R4,5 billion over the next five years. The project is set to cost about R300 million funded through donations from the community, the union said.

The university will be home to Solidarity’s accredited, Afrikaans private vocational training college founded on Christian values.

The campus is the first of the major projects the union would embark on over the next five years to boost education and employment to the tune of R4,5 billion.

The next project would be the construction of the Akademia campus where “world-class education will be offered through Afrikaans as the medium of instruction”.

“The strength of Sol-Tech and of this campus lies in the fact that it is being built by the community,” said Solidarity COO Dr Dirk Hermann.

Afrikaner author, publisher and commentator Dan Roodt calls Lesufi non-‘South African’ ‘racist’

Afrikaner author, publisher and commentator Dan Roodt took to Twitter on Thursday to call out Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on his vow that names of historical leaders, used for example in Hoërskool Hendrik Verwoerd in Tshwane, would be replaced by new ones.

The education MEC says he will take the author ‘to the cleaners’ and that he ‘will apologise’ for saying the MEC is not a South African. Roodt accused Lesufi of making “racist statements about Afrikaans and Afrikaners”.

“What right does this racist have to remove Verwoerd’s name from anything? Lesufi is isn’t even South African! (sic),” Roodt tweeted.

In a video posted on social media earlier on Thursday, Lesufi maintained that names such as Verwoerd would continue to fall until there were no names reminding South Africans of the past.

Over 250,000 Undocumented Pupils In Gauteng Schools – most of them migrants from neighbouring countries

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Wednesday said provincial schools were catering for more than 250,000 undocumented pupils.

Lesufi made the comment as he delivered his submissions before the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) inquiry looking into service delivery problems in Alexandra.

The hearing was launched following protests over a lack of services in the township.

The investigation was testing a range of matters including the root causes of the Alex shut down earlier this year and possible maladministration in the controversial multimillion-rand Alex Renewal Project.

In his oral submission, Lesufi revealed how the admissions of non-documented learners affected his department’s budget.

“It’s R18,000 per learner, that is the amount that we spend. So, if you check 250,000 [learners] and times that by R18,000, that is the amount of money that we are losing,” he said.

The time has come for President Cyril Ramaphosa to stop denying that there are pressing problems in our country, like farm murders, and for him to admit that Affirmative Action (AA) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) have failed. These were the matters that the FF Plus emphasised in the party’s reply to President Ramaphosa’s recent State of the Nation Address (SONA). Just before the recent elections, the President said that he wants to tie young white people to a tree to prevent them from leaving the country. The truth, however, is that they are leaving their country due to AA.

The FF Plus has declared many times over that the party and its supporters are committed to help build South Africa. The laws that put policies, like AA and BEE, into execution prevent white people and other minorities from getting jobs. In addition to that, crime is the reason why experts, like 110 engineers skilled in the construction industry, are leaving the country.

MEC for Education racist rant: FF Plus requests investigation into Lesufi derogatory statements when he referred to white learners as “klein basies

As the first in a series of steps to be taken against Panyaza Lesufi, the Gauteng MEC for Education, the FF Plus, on 18 June 2019, officially requested the Gauteng Legislature Integrity Commissioner to launch an investigation into his recent derogatory statements concerning white learners.

The FF Plus’s complaint is based on Lesufi being in contempt of South Africa’s Constitution, which prohibits any form of racism, and two clauses of the Gauteng Legislature Code of Conduct, which stipulates that members of the Legislature must be worthy of their office and that they should at all times act honourably and with integrity.

The derogatory remark Lesufi made last week by referring to white learners as “klein basies” in front of an audience while he was explaining his department’s operational plans for the year concerning mother tongue education is absolutely unacceptable.

Unpaid Alex school subsidy could lead to Lesufi’s arrest – school alleges they were deprived of their 2016 subsidy for unexplained reasons

The High Court in Johannesburg has ruled that Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and his department contravened a court order attained after they allegedly did not pay annual subsidies owed to the Liberty Community College in Alexandra township.

Failure to pay the subsidy could now lead to Lesufi’s arrest, IOL reports. The department will also now be fined R10,000 for each day they do not pay up.

The court order, first attained last year, was re-enforced in this latest ruling.

Liberty Community College took the department to court over the alleged unpaid subsidies last year.

This follows the school being told they didn’t qualify for subsidies for the 2016 academic year. The school’s lawyer, Dominique Lloyd, says an attempt to appeal this decision was dismissed by the department without any reasons given.

When the school was granted their 2017 subsidy without any issues, they sued the department over the 2016 subsidy.
