Had it not been for a pothole, caused by ANC neglect, incompetence and plunder, Mr Lomon Terreblanche (58), a well-known farmer from Edenville in the Free State, would still be alive, as would Waldo Ferreira (25), and 2 other young people, all killed on the same day, by ANC’s potholes! The ANC government’s focus so far has been mainly on the looting of the fiscus and not on the maintenance of the country’s infrastructure and other state assets.
Proper infrastructure is the lifeblood of the economy and ensures that residents have access to roads, bridges, schools, water and many other services. Without proper infrastructure maintenance, no country can survive economically. SA rail transport system plunged into chaos, train derailment and collision often occur due to infrastructure theft

Merely a few days after a derailment in Boksburg occurred and the two trains colliding in the Pretoria station, yet another derailment occurred near Springs.
A train derailed at Angelo station near Daveyton and obstructed traffic to and from Springs to Johannesburg. The cause of the derailments is attributed to infrastructure theft worth over R1 million.
Furthermore, continuous cable theft has halted Pretoria’s trains in the north and even Fikile Mbalula could not complete his journey in Cape Town.
Spoornet, Transnet and Prasa are apparently in great distress, as thieves make it difficult for rail transport to reach their destination at scheduled times.
The UNTU trade union has since announced that they will start a protest action on July 26 to force Ramaphosa to secure safe and reliable rail transport for everyone.

The FF Plus learned with shock, but without surprise, that infrastructure inspections at the Hoërskool Driehoek were done only on 8 April 2006, 20 September 2006 and 8 April 2014.
In response to a FF Plus question in parliament, the minister of basic education acknowledged that the last investigation was conducted in July 2018 as part of an investigation to determine the school size capacity.
“It is clear that inspections are done sporadically and not at sensible intervals,” said Adv Anton Alberts, FF Plus premier candidate for Gauteng and party chairman.
