New Drink Driving Levels Will be ZERO if Control Freaks Bheki Cele & Fikile Mbalula’s Draft Law Gets Passed!

Thanks to Covid19, and support from the unpopular police chief Bheki Cele, Transport minister Fikile Mbalula’s promise to totally ban drink driving in January, came a step closer to becoming Law with the publishing of the The National Road Traffic Amendment Bill on Monday, which was approved by Cabinet in draft form in March. The new law would drop the permissible blood alcohol level for anyone driving a motor vehicle to zero.

The draft bill which had broad support when it was approved by Cabinet in March, unsurprisingly has the support of police chief Bheki Cele, who has already upset many with his draconian prohibition on alcohol and tobacco during the lockdown. The new law which takes an extreme line on drink driving levels is touted to help make law enforcement easier. ANC Takes R9 Billion From PRASA to Pay for e-Tolls! With No Brakes, Cellphones, Radios, Guards, SAPS or Money, The PRASA Train Has Derailed & Crashed Yet ANC Vultures Continue To Plunder it!

While Vodacom has cancelled its contract with PRASA for the provision of cellphones, which train drivers used to communicate with control rooms, it has also been revealed that ANC took R9 Billion from PRASA to pay for SANRAL e-tolls, according to Steve Harris from UNTU, which is a union within Prasa. Train drivers use these cellphones to get the verbal go-ahead to use routes to prevent accidents, because they can’t use the radio base system because that is not working either!

Drivers now have to use their own cellphones, which is against PRASA rules (and probably against their insurance too). Harris says that the lives of train drivers are in danger when they can’t get authority to use routes and have to wait at crossings, because commuters who are angry about late trains have attacked train drivers in the past. 80% of Gauteng motorists refuse to pay tolls – This ANC-initiative has been a disaster since onset

The Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, has come to the fore with his negotiations on the existence of the controversial e-toll in the Central Transvaal.

He held discussions with Outa, the AA agency, and several union leaders to get views and views on the matter.

Mbalula later told the media that the government is currently strongly considering the possibility of waiving the e-toll due to the long-standing resistance that causes it to operate at a total loss as 80% of motorists refuse tolls to pay.

To date, the government has been reluctant to comply with the demands and has even offered to reduce the toll tariff by 70%, but this has been rejected by numerous agencies.

Will it be the final downfall of the controversial e-Toll system?

Talks between the ANC Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, and the representatives of the AA as well as those of Outa, give the impression that the system may be tilted.

Mbalula says the opportunity was created to jointly decide on the e-toll system, which indicates that the Outa battle may eventually be the winner.

Opinionists believe the involvement of the AA suggests that a calculation of how to increase the fuel price may be needed to replace the e-toll.

The e-toll was disputed from the outset, and motorists have since refused to settle the accounts, which has resulted in an unusually large loss.

Over 200 truck drivers have been subject to violent attacks in 2019 and more than 2000 vehicles have been damaged by illegal blockades, stoning and arson

The newly appointed Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, says that unscrupulous transport operators and illegal foreign national truck drivers are to blame for the recent spate of violence.

For local truck drivers, 2019 has proven to be the deadliest and most dangerous period on the roads in recent history. In the last 18 weeks alone, over 200 truck drivers have been subject to violent attacks – some resulting in fatalities – while more than 2000 vehicles have been damaged by illegal blockades, stoning and arson.

The nationwide situation has rapidly deteriorated into unmitigated chaos on South African highways, with drivers fearing for their lives every time they get behind the wheel. In an attempt to quell the rampant destruction, government has sanctioned the formation of an inter-ministerial task team, comprising of Transport and Police – the latter, led by Minister Bheki Cele.

Corruption Watch researchers in Durban:- Blatant bribes for driver’s licences

Durban – A wink, a nod and a couple of thousand rands will buy a driver’s license – it’s no secret, even though it has a major impact when it comes to counting the loss of lives on South Africa’s roads.

The Independent on Saturday team went undercover to investigate what a Corruption Watch researcher said was standard practice to pay a bribe, and prospective drivers were almost guaranteed to fail if they could not or were unwilling to pay.

The team found blatant bribery at three KZN RTI (Road Traffic Inspectorate) centres.

Responding yesterday, “gravely concerned,” Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula said with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s undertaking to fight corruption at all levels, such illegal activity would “not be tolerated in any way, shape or form”.

Fikile Mbalula shared a video of a new ANC supporter, Peter Mac from Benoni. In the video, Mac says he is voting ANC because he believes the party’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, will facilitate positive change and will bring the money back to South Africa.

South Africa reacted to the video, which was shared on social media. Many users were excited about ANC’s ‘new dawn’ and a potentially multiracial ruling party and consequently, country, Briefly found.

Some users, on the other hand, were skeptical and felt that Mac’s support of the ANC was simply because of Ramaphosa’s likelihood of protecting the white interest in capital.

Others criticized Mbalula and the ANC for flaunting white supporters as though they were more meaningful than the support of the rest of the country.

Nyanda and Trevor Manual Drop Bombshells – Guptas Wielded Significant Influence in the Appointment and Dismissal of Ministers

Siphiwe Nyanda, former cabinet minister told the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture today that he met with the Gupta brothers in the presence of former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma. They introduced themselves and their company, Sahara Computers and indicated a desire to have a private meeting with him.

Under his portfolio as communications minister, Nyanda had oversight over the SABC, Icasa, Films and Publications Board and Brand SA, among others. The Guptas are suspected to have wielded significant influence in the appointment and dismissal of ministers who could further their business interests.

Nyanda’s meeting with the Guptas fell through because he was fired by Zuma during one of the former president’s cabinet reshuffles.

Earlier in the day, former finance minister Trevor Manuel testified that the reshuffle was aimed at replacing reluctant ministers with pliable ones who would work to further the business interests
