ANC-regime needs to take notice – The cost of violent protests has spiked 100 fold in a decade

The number – and size – of insurance claims filed with state-owned political risk insurer Sasria (the South African Special Risks Insurance Association) show just how much violent protests are costing South Africa.

In 2007, after nearly four years of economic growth of over 5%, Sasria received 540 claims worth R14 million for damage as a result of violent protests. Most of those claims were related to labour action.

By 2018 the number of claims had spiked more than 10 times, to 5,543 claims. But the increase in the value of the claims was a hundredfold, to R1.4 billion. Most of those claims were related to service-delivery protests, pointing to a failure of local government.

Protests and road closures have become a daily occurrence across South Africa as marginalised communities take to the street in the belief that they only get noticed when causing damage to public and private property.

Bloodhounds are sucking SA motorists dry so that the ANC can benefit – total fuel tax comes to R5.73 now while little of the levy is intended for the right purpose due to corruption and mismanagement

A newly released report shows that South Africa’s motorists are being “sucked dry” with heavy levies while little of its intended for the right purpose.

Ten years ago, the total tax on fuel was R1.77 and now it has become R5.73 per liter.

Financial experts point out that the government is abusing the fuel levy to maintain their extravagant stance, whatever the new president of the country is trying to say.

Billions of rand are progressing this way every year, but the public says they see nothing that the government is doing with the money, except to pay excessively high salaries to workers who are not always up to the post occupied.

This is seen as one of the main reasons why the economic situation of taxpayers, businessmen and the state is getting worse.

Chief Justice’s office rack up a whopping travel bill of R114m in merely one year and now questions arise of how this could even be possible

The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) spent a large amount of money on travel in the 2017/18 financial year. In recent months Judges Matter and journalist Niren Tolsi have been raising troubling questions about the management of the Office of the Chief Justice. This high travel bill reinforces their concerns.

We sent questions to Nathi Mncube, spokesperson for the Judiciary, asking him to explain these expenses.

To understand the questions, it is helpful to either read Vote 22 of the Budget, a ten-page document, or to look at the following table (page 4 in the linked PDF file, but labelled page 460 because it is part of the larger budget document):

The item that stands out in this table is the travel expenditure: R113.6 million in 2017/18. It is on this figure that most of our questions were based.

Election cost taxpayers billions of rand, SA’s struggling economy has taken a step closer towards junk status

Apart from the fact that taxpayers had to foot the bill for the state’s expenses, the amount of which is unknown, but has amounted to millions. The recent election has pushed the struggling economy another step closer towards junk status with the tremendous expense of political parties.

The ANC spent more than one billion in its effort to remain the country’s ruler, while the other 47 political parties spent just over one billion rand together.

Political analysts say the waste did not show who convinced voters to vote for another party, and there were few changes, except that the FF Plus strengthened its position considerably, and so did the Malema party.

As if the struggling economy is being taxed even further, the ANC wants President Ramaphosa to boast of his inauguration at the Loftus Versveld rugby stadium where about 45 thousand of his supporters can see it.

Millions of Rands of taxpayers money are exploited on State’s funeral burials for so called struggle hero’s to please ancestral spirits while thousands of citizens are living in poverty

At the rate that ANC’s “stalwarts” are now dying, local governments and the state will be spending a lot of money for burials and funerals.

Every ANC member now dying is considered a “struggle hero” and “deserves” a state funeral. African funerals are accompanied by generous refreshments and the traditional rituals that must be completed to please all the ancestral spirit.

The state’s lavish funeral burials for almost every struggle hero amount to millions of rand, especially when the grand entertainment’s expenses are accounted for where everyone is present.
