Minister of Police accused of corruption but strongly denies that he benefited from State Capture

The man with the big hat, who draws heavily on the American cowboy forms, has now pulled out his pistols and is looking for the guilty liars.

The Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, rejected the accusations that he had benefited from distributing gifts during the state capture.

A so-called “secret witness” said the head of the police service is linked to the gift of a luxury vehicle, but Cele says the witness must show where the vehicle is.

Allegations that Cele was involved in “crime intelligence” but there is also no clarity about this, although it was alleged that he received R40,000 on occasion, but the information was vague and also unconvincingly communicated to the commission.

Old steel industry closes its doors due to poor economic condition in SA caused by ANC regime’s inability to govern country effectively

Robor, the steel industry that has been providing exceptional service in the manufacture of steel goods for 97 years, is finally closing its doors.

The voluntary winding-up of an industry that manufactured steel pipes and other steel products is attributed to the poor quality, cheaper products manufactured by Chinese institutions.

In response, the Tiso Blackstar company said it was writing off its R137m investment it had invested in Robor.

The closure of Robor is widely regarded as a serious hall largely caused by the government’s policy of Chinese support at the expense of domestic companies, as well as the poor economic condition of the country due to the failure of the ANC regime.

The madam is calling Juju -Helen Zille invites Malema to tea for debate on the topic of South Africa’s future

Policy fellow for the Institute for Race Relations Helen Zille has extended an invite for tea to EFF leader Julius Malema. She has proposed an intensive discussion with the EFF leader on the topic of South Africa’s future.

Zille, who has ventured into the world of podcasts with a show called Tea with Helen, has publically extended an invite to the EFF leader, which is seemingly supported by social media users.

In a poll conducted on Monday, Zille questioned who she should interview next on her show between Thabo Mbeki and Malema.

Malema seems to be the crowd favourite as Zille extended an invite to him on Tuesday.

Previously interviewing the likes of Wits Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib to Ferial Haffajee, Zille has said the live debate would provide a platform for a no-holds-barred discussion on the country’s future.

Hacking gang brutally chopped R1 mil Boran stud bull to death and carried his meat away

Mr Million, a stud bull for which his owner paid R1 000 000, had to be put to death after savage cattle meat raiders – you can imagine from which race – struck at a farm outside Brits in North West last Friday night.

It was a typical hacking gang that slash the cattle to death with machetes and then chop up the meat on the spot to carry it away. The hacking gangs that struck regularly on South African farms first slash off the hind leg tendons of the cattle so that they can’t run before hacking the cattle into pieces whilst they are still alive. The night guard arrived on the scene just after the hacking gang started to hack Mr Million. His hind tendons had by then already been hacked off and he already had deep slashes over his head and back. The hacking gang had by then chopped up several cows and fled with the meat.

No wonder Lesufi wants to place pupils in Afrikaans schools – Gauteng Education accused of failing pupils by allowing ‘shocking’ school conditions

The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Monday said the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was failing pupils by allowing poor conditions to persist in schools.

The DA’s shadow MEC for infrastructure development and property management in the province, Alan Fuchs, made the statement following an oversight visit to the Apex Primary School in Lenasia. Fuchs visited the school with councillor Dave Dewes.

“This is not the first complaint about this particular school or the first site visit. In January of this year, the DA’s shadow MEC for education in Gauteng, Khume Ramulifho MPL, together with the former constituency head, and councillors, visited the school but were denied entry,” said Fuchs.

“This obstructive attitude by the school management and the poor state of the school was reported to the GDE, which responded by undertaking to deal with the concerns raised.”

Blue Farmtrac tractor donated by EFF to black farmers “to cultivate land” is gathering dust and little agricultural activity is taking place in this area

Last December, as part of the EFF’s election campaign, Julius Malema donated a blue Farmtrac tractor to the community of his birthplace, Seshego. This very tractor that was supposed to “to cultivate land” is now gathering dust at a party spot near Polokwane that is closely associated with him.

The blue Farmtrac tractor manufactured by an Indian company is back in the spotlight after investigative journalist amaBunghane reported that the tractor was paid for by a company that received a R1bn contract at the Johannesburg metro – believed in exchange for the EFF’s influence at the metro. It is alleged that the DA’s Herman Mashaba is retained as mayor with the aid of the EFF.

ANC-minister of Education wants to keep black SA children uneducated with new General Education Certificate (GEC) issued at Grade 9

The 1976 youth riots in Soweto, celebrated as “Youth Day” since 1994, resulted from the claim by the ANC that the Bantu Education Act was designed to keep black South African children uneducated so that they cannot ever rise to become more than servants and gardeners.

This week the ANC minister of Education announced that General Education Certificate (GEC)will be issued to Grade 9 learners (already having passed previous grades with a 30% requirement) to avoid too many of them failing in the Higher Grades.

In her speech at the SADTU National Congress in Johannesburg this week, she described the eleven focus areas of the 2019 to 2024 Medium-Term Strategic Framework (MTSF).

Priority 4 aims to deal “decisively with the quality and efficiency through the implementation of standardised assessments to reduce failure, repetition, and drop-out rates,” she said.

Petrol price increases again – Here is how much you will pay for fuel from October

The Department of Energy has published the final petrol price changes for October 2019.

According to the department, the large difference between the prices of the 93 and 95 grades of petrol is because of a recalculation in the basic fuel price (BFP) for each category.

The changes are as follows:

Petrol 93 will decrease by 4 cents per litre
Petrol 95 will increase by 18 cents per litre
Diesel will increase by 25 cents per litre (both grades)
Illuminating paraffin will increase by 25 cents a litre.

In terms of the working rules to administer the BFP, the differentials between 95 and 93 petrol grades are adjusted at the beginning of each quarter. The BFP differentials between 95 and 93 petrol grades have changed and therefore there are different price adjustments between the two grades.

Rumors have it that DA leader, Mmusi Maimane is driving a vehicle gifted by disgraced businessman Markus Jooste

As the knives come out for Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane, the party has come to his defence after he has been accused of driving a vehicle gifted by disgraced businessman Markus Jooste.

The rental vehicle was paid for by Steinhoff.

Jooste is accused of insider trading, cooking financial books and dodging taxes, all of which caused the company’s share price to crash.

The DA’s spokesperson Solly Malatsi said: “That vehicle was used for a particular period by the leader of the Democratic Alliance. It was returned to Steinhoff upon the revelations of the company’s shenanigans.”

Maimane also took to social media to defend himself.

Milco SA Consortium will take over Clover company

The South African Competition Council has informed Milco that approval has been given for the international Milco SA consortium to buy dairy and soft drink company Clover.

The Milco SA Consortium is apparently ready to take over the Clover company, which is known for its dairy and soft drink products, in one of the country’s largest dairy business deals. Clover and Milco agreed not to lay down any staff for two years after the transaction as part of Clover’s long-awaited Project Sencillo, but the tribunal extended that period to three years. The planned retrenchments are part of phase two of Sencillo. Over the next five years, Clover wants to close some of its factories in order to better utilize its assets and thus save costs.

Three of Clover’s biggest points were included in the deal, which includes the Clayville plant in the Central Transvaal, the Queensburgh plant in Natal and the Port Elisabeth plant in the Eastern Cape.

R500 million new fire truck tender in court after correct tender procedure has not been complied with – More than half of Johannesburg’s fire stations still have no fire trucks

The Johannesburg Municipality’s 10 new fire trucks for the emergency management service’s deal have now landed in court.  Marcé Projects approached the Johannesburg High Court and asked that the contract between the city and TFM Industries that received the R500m contract be void.

Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba delivered 10 emergency services vehicles on Monday that were to be the first batch of the expected 92 that will reinforce fire stations around Johannesburg. Allegations that irregularities are associated with the contract are now being tried in court, and could become a startling incident. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the correct tender procedure has not been complied with, which according to opinion holders always presents a possibility of unlawful conduct

In July, it was revealed there were only seven fire trucks across 30 fire stations in Johannesburg.
