The controversial Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who seems to be the Public Protector in name only, recently celebrated her 50th birthday, but invited guests were people who should be considered “questionable” friends given her position.

She ended up in the crossfire over her birthday party’s guest list, and experts believe it is rather people who should be investigated by the Public Protector for their possible share in various corruption incidents.

Some of the “strange friends” are people accused of being involved in corruption and bribery, some of whom were dismissed by the ANC president from their posts as members of the 2018 cabinet such as Bongani Bongo, who was accused of bribery and corruption, and later fired, was one of her birthday friends.

Promises of Ramaphose and ANC as empty like the state coffers – new and clean administration a total farce

The ANC’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa and the ANC’s so-called new and clean administration promises are as expected, just empty promises.

Ministers from the Zuma honorary and those who have not yet been appointed are nominated as chairmen of parliamentary oversight committees.

Even those currently implicated in the state capture are still considered fit for senior positions in the rainbow nation’s parliament.

Faith Muthambi, Mosebenzi Zwane, Supra Mahumapelo and Tina Joemat-Petterson will all take chair positions and this is due to interference by Ace Magashule’s side.

According to Pemmy Majodina, experience and capacity apply as criteria. Experience in state caption and stealing capacity is the question on many voters’ lips.

It appears that Ramaphosa doesn’t have the will or the support of senior party members to get rid of Magashule.

Relatives of ANC leader named as firm comes clean:- Jessie Duarte’s son, ex in kickback scandal

A company that scored tenders worth millions of rands from state-owned enterprises diverted money meant to fund supplier development programmes to ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte’s family members in return for them assisting it to snatch more state business.

Combined Private Investigations (CPI), a company that was previously found to have spied on journalists and politicians, among them Peter Bruce, Rob Rose and Trevor Manuel, has told law-enforcement agencies that it paid more than R40m in two years to a group led by Gupta associate Salim Essa. The group included Malcolm Mabaso (a former adviser to former minister of mineral resources Mosebenzi Zwane), Duarte’s son Yusha and her ex-husband John Duarte.

The monies were not paid to them directly but to two Gupta-linked companies – Homix and Chivita – and two other companies, Forsure and Medjoul.

CPI had contracts with Eskom and Transnet.
