De Lille sells out her voters, compromises coloured and other minorities by accepting a position in the Cabinet of ANC-regime

Just like the New National Party had a “Short pants” figure who brought about the end of his party through incorporation with the ANC, the Good party now also has its own “Short skirt” who will usher in the end of her party as well.

Patricia de Lille, the new Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, sold out the coloured voters who voted for her for a position with the ANC.

This raises the question of whether she negotiated this move with the ANC while she participated in the election campaign as leader of Good. If that is the case, she owes every single person who voted for Good an explanation.

De Lille is repeating the same pattern as the one she laid down with her previous party, the Independent Democrats (ID), which was founded after she broke away from the PAC in 2003.

The ID vanished from the scene shortly afterwards when De Lille sacrificed her party, just like now, for a high position with the Democratic Alliance (DA).

Unemployment in SA is currently 27.6% – but the ANC regime tells voters how the figure is going to fall, they just have to vote for the party

The South African economy started at a very bitter note this year with unemployment rising to 27.6%. This was 27.1% in the fourth quarter of 2018, but the ANC regime told voters how the figure was going to fall, they just had to vote for the party.

Extensive unemployment has risen to the highest level so far, 38%. It was previously 37%, which was already a record. By contrast, the number of unemployed increased by 3.7% to 6.3 million and the number of discouraged job seekers by 7.5% to nearly 3 million. This means that nearly 9.2 million South Africans of working age (aged 15-64) are not in school, do not study further and are not voluntarily unemployed (such as homemakers or early retired people). The number of unemployed has risen almost twice as fast as the number of working-age people, increasing by 1.6% to about 38.3 million.

Outdated devices used in South African elections for years, are not linked to a central online system -Cope’s Deidre Carter says her ID was scanned at four different voting stations

On Wednesday 8 May South Africans took to the polls in the 2019 elections. Reports are growing of voters describing how easily the ink was removed from thumbs, and cases of people attempting to vote more than once.

Cope’s Deidre Carter talks to CapeTalk’s Lester Kiewit about problems she experienced with both ink and the zip-zip machine scanning process.

She says after the ink easily rubbed off her thumb and she tested if she could have committed voter fraud and was shocked at the outcome.

She went to a different voting station with her now clean thumb and says she could easily have voted numerous times after her ID was scanned, again and again, receiving 4 more slips from zip zip machines.

I went through the zip-zip machine and was told, yes you can go and vote.

She called the presiding officer and explained what had happened and raised her serious concerns.

Theoretically, she could have voted five times.

50% of younger blacks aged between 18-30 have not been registered as voters, and do not know the past of “apartheid” and the so-called “struggle”

More than 6 million young black people in South Africa are not registered voters and are not interested in voting.

The millions of blacks who were all born after the end of a white government in 1994, have no desire for the so-called “apartheid talks” of political leaders.

With over 50% of younger blacks aged 18 to 30, not registered as voters, not knowing the past of “apartheid” and the so-called “struggle” and concerned about the weekly life they not getting a job.

The youth, who also do not care about the ANC Youth League, did not experience events 25 years ago, and only know South Africa as a country governed by the ANC, and are therefore not committed to Ramaphosa ‘s election.

The condition can have a serious impact on the ANC as the largest number of students on campuses tend to associate with the Malema party.

ANC has been accused of exploiting land expropriation without compensation issue as an electoral tool to garner votes – this political party suddenly decides land issue is urgent and must be tackled before election

ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu has made an about-turn by announcing on Tuesday that parliament will begin the process of amending the constitution in this current term.

Mthembu was addressing the joint sitting of parliament debating President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address.

“We are fast-tracking land reform by implementing our resolution on the expropriation of land without compensation. Parliament is already in the process of crafting a constitutional amendment to amend section 25 of the constitution to make it explicit that our constitution allows expropriation of land without compensation,” he said, opening the debate.

“An hour ago, Honourable Thoko Didiza was elected chair of the ad-hoc committee tasked with amending section 25 of the constitution. We congratulate her and wish the committee well as they embark on this historic process,” added Mthembu.

Despite his promise of a “new dawn”, Ramaphosa can’t stop the ANC-regime’s decline, even with a win at the polls

In recent months there has been conjecture that if South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa wins a suitably large majority of the upcoming national vote, he will be able to achieve two notable outcomes.

Firstly, he’ll be able reverse the governing African National Congress’s (ANC’s) slide into populism and factionalism. And he’ll be able to see off challenges from the radical Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), the country’s third largest party.

The argument is that he would then have a sufficiently strong mandate to undertake economic reforms needed to fix South Africa. This includes broadening competition, limiting the size and scope of the state-owned entities and expanding the public transport system. Other things that need fixing include reducing red tape to boost entrepreneurship and small businesses, improving the education system and trade integration in the region.
