SOUR GRAPES: A prime grape farm that once produced 30,000 – 40,000 boxes of export grapes, now lies in total ruins after the owner, Pieter Naude of the Denau Farm in De Doorns, gave the prime grape farm Alpha, away to 250 of his workers in a workers trust (communist collective farm) back in 2010. Mr Naude then also trained 2 managers for the farm and for the first 5 years, Mr Naude’s business also did Alpha farm’s books. What was this farmer thinking? Did he really believe that communism can work, or was it just pure greed, because The Western Cape provincial government carried the entire running costs of Alpha farm for the first 2 years. That is R 2 million that they got for free, but as we should know by now, all the free stuff communists promise you, is never really free and comes with very harsh strings attached!

Constitutional Court says Public Protector is incompetent for her post

The Legal Practice Board was requested by Accountability Now (AN), a non-profit organization, to remove the name of the Public Protector (PP), Busisiwe Mkhwebane, from the advocates.

It follows the Constitutional Court’s ruling that she had acted and lied under oath. Adv Paul Hoffman, a director at AN, said in a letter to the Legal Practice Council that the findings against the PP are serious and final and that her honesty, integrity and competency as PP is affected.

Dr Pieter Groenewald, leader of the FF Plus says that the ruling and findings of the Constitutional Court this morning against the Public Protector (PP), Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who has, among other things, exceeded her mandate, is damning and in fact she says she is incompetent for office as South Africa’s EM.

These South African companies are retrenching staff in 2019 – Most probably BEE compliant as well – Unemployment has already soared to 27.5%

Multichoice has joined the bandwagon of South African companies that are cutting jobs to stay afloat in these difficult times.

Why are these South African companies retrenching staff?
The satellite network stated that, although billions of rand in returns were reported for the 2018/2019 financial year, consumer behaviour and data on their digital self-service shows that there is less of a need for that many call centre and walk-in centre agents on their roster.

This is yet another blow for South Africa’s economy, whose GDP retracted by more than 3% in the first half of the year.

While Multichoice’s decision was brought on by pressure from the impending take-over of the fourth industrial revolution, other companies have been forced into a corner with very little choice but to sacrifice a portion of its workforce to remain financially soluble.

It seems like the ANC ship is sinking and high-paid officials fleeing – Many high-ranking SA bosses are resigning or retire

It appears that there is a new disease in South Africa, namely retirement or resignation. High-ranking officials are now “unexpectedly” stepping down and parliamentarians are also joining the queue.

The list grows by the day with the latest announcement from Sandile Shabalala from TymeBank , only three years after his employment.

He followed SAA’s boss Vuyani Jarana’s actions who made huge bravado bets on SAA’s revival.

SA Business Leadership’s Bonang Mohale has just announced that he will not renew his contract.

Christo Wiese is also attempting to sell R3.3bn of his Shoprite shares. Absa’s Maria Ramos resigned as head of the bank while Comair, Old Mutual and Massmart’s Chief Executive Officers have given notice that they are also retiring.

Financial experts believe the reason for the exodus is a lack of trust between boards, management and chief officials.
