Limpopo school that failed to reach a 50% matric pass rate has allegedly fabricated marks even though the pupils have not written for exams

Whistle-blower says school fabricated the English examination marks of grades 8, 9 and 11. He says pupils did not even sit for the exams

A Limpopo school that has failed to reach a 50% matric pass for the past three years allegedly fabricated English marks for grades 8, 9 and 11 in March.

The allegation about the fabricated marks was made by Michael Mosomane to the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) as part of his submission, which City Press has seen, challenging the termination of his contract by the education department in May.

Mosomane was employed in January as a temporary accounting teacher at Nakedi Secondary in De Vrede village about 130km outside of Polokwane.

He told City Press that he had initially reported the matter to the education department’s offices in Polokwane on May 6 to raise the alarm, but he received no feedback.

Man-hunt launched after thirteen awaiting-trial prisoners escape from police holding cells in Polokwane

A task team has been established to hunt for awaiting-trial prisoners who escaped from police holding cells in Seshego outside Polokwane over the weekend.

Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the prisoners escaped on Friday evening. A task team has been established to hunt for the prisoners. They were arrested for business robberies and for contravening the Immigration Act.

They were identified as:

Prophet from the Ambassadors of Christ Gospel Ministries church feeds congregants dog meet as communion

A prophet from the Ambassadors of Christ Gospel Ministries church in Seshego, Polokwane has come under fire for feeding his congregants dog meat as communion, reports Polokwane Review.

In a post that is now gaining momentum on social media, photos of a slaughtered and skinned dog can be seen and the meat being cooked before being fed to the congregants.

The photos were shared by a member of the church, who stated that the congregants are still going to eat what the world has rejected, because “we are out of this world”. The post reads: “1Timothy 4, Paul says everything that God created is good and nothing is to be rejected if received with with thanksgiving.”

On 16 May, Prophet Penuel released a statement on his Facebook page stating he was not afraid to speak out, and that he knew who was involved in plots against him.

Five Chinese nationals arrested for human trafficking and prostitution in Polokwane

The South African Police Service in Limpopo continue to work tirelessly during the festive season period as an implementation of practical tactics to ensure safer environment for all citizens of the province.

Operation ‘Quiet Storm’, an intelligence led joint operations has led to the apprehension of more than sixty suspects for serious charges in a number of clusters, especially in crime infested areas.

In Polokwane, five Chinese nationals were arrested for human trafficking, dealing in prostitution, possession of suspected stolen goods and bribery.

Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, says the arrests emanated from a joint operation composing of specialised units and during the arrest, goods worth an estimated value of R100 000 were seized.
