More than 600 senior officials from Eskom and some executives were informed of the entity’s “turnaround” plan. According to documentation, Eskom is sitting without cash and has almost completely collapsed on several occasions.

R130bn has been loaned to the power provider and the state is expected to help as government announces increased tariffs. Eskom unbundling continues but will take four years to finalize. So the future is still bleak around the entity with its overloaded workforce and top structure officials.

In the last two years, Eskom reported a loss of R2.3 billion while R19.6 billion was wasted on unauthorized expenses.

In the meantime, Medupi and Kusile power stations are still “off the grid” due to poor construction work, corruption and cost overruns.

Eskom now in bed with MultiChoice – Current CEO of bankrupt National Power Supplier that is plagued by corruption, fraud and money laundering, now on board of pay channel

Eskom is subject to fraud, money laundering, illegal tender awards and theft that results in the Chief Executive Officer of the entity or being dismissed or being prosecuted for all kinds of underhand operations.

The “life span” of a CEO at Eskom is not very long. Those who are still trying to get things right are resigning very quickly since workload, red tape and interference of councilors and politicians.

Now MultiChoice’s current CEO of Eskom sits at on their board. Add to this his chairmanship of Anheuser-Busch InBev Africa council, Sun International and the Casino Association of SA.

Businessmen ask when will he get time to get Eskom up, and what is MultiChoice’s motivation for his appointment?

Eskom remains a failure – ANC regime admits that the power provider does not have the capacity to meet the needs of larger industries

The ANC’s Energy Minister, Jeff Radebe, acknowledged that the national power provider does not have the capacity to meet the needs of larger industries.

The developers and investors first want to know if sustainable electric power can be provided, but Radebe first waited for the election to be over before he could admit the truth.

The Vryburger recently reported that several major businesses have decided to become self-sufficient regarding electricity and are going big to get rid of the unreliable national power supplier.

Radebe claims it will need R1 trillion to meet the needs of the larger institutions, and it is well known that the country is drowning in debt and will not get such a loan.

Bankrupt Eskom ruins cash-strapped SA – Phase 2 #rollingblackouts implemented – National power provider controlled by ANC- regime has once again been unable to generate enough electricity to supply in demand

With the latest announcement that Eskom is again unable to generate sufficient electricity to meet demand, the consumers’ patience is once again being tested out.

Eskom says phase 2 load shedding will be implemented today from 08:00 to 23:00 due to a shortage of capacity.

The power provider introduced phase 1 load shedding on Wednesday morning, and it upgraded to phase 2 power outages in the afternoon. Stock market ended at 22:45 yesterday. According to power source spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe, power outages were caused by essential repairs at stations, which led to an imbalance between electricity supply and demand.

Phase 1 makes it possible to cut 1000 MW of the national grid to protect the country’s power system from total collapse.

Since yesterday, businessmen, industrialists, and housewives have had to do their planning ahead of getting caught up in Eskom’s negligence.

What did South-Africans used before candles? Electricity! – Eskom is apparently technically bankrupt and its R420bn debt currently accounts for 15% of the country’s debt – will no longer exist at the current projection by April 2019

The Portfolio Committee of Public Enterprises heard at the hearing of the Department of Public Entities that Eskom was “technically bankrupt”.

Eskom will no longer exist at the current projection by April 2019.

The power supply’s R420bn debt burden currently accounts for 15% of the country’s debt and its revenue has increased fourfold since 2007 but its expenses, especially with staff overload, have exceeded revenue. Staff alone increased from 32,000 to 48,000 in eleven years.

Despite the increase in staff, critical knowledge was lacking, which resulted in 40% of interruptions at the different power stations being attributed to “human factors”.

Price shock beckons if Nersa authorize Eskom’s request- National power provider demands 45% increase in tariffs – Now taxpayers have to pay for state institution’s incompetence

National power provider, Eskom’s application to Nersa will be heard in Cape Town next week.

Nersa has already approved a 4.41% increase, but now Eskom is demanding 15% annually over the next three years, which is three times the official inflation figure.

Energy expert Ted Blom says the application should be scrapped until the forensic audit is completed on the statecapture that took place at Eskom.

Experts have disclosed a different outlook on this situation by pointing out that the power tariffs are already too high and should rather be lowered, especially in view of the fact that power is being sold to neighboring countries at far lower rates than charged to South-Africa itself.

The power provider also indicated that load shedding could be reinstated next week, which would further crippled the economy.

ANC, SAKP, Cosatu and Sanco are now demanding the end of load shedding in South Africa.

It is ironic that the people in charge of the country, that is, the ruling ANC party, its alliance partner, the SA Communist Party and unionists now demand that the shedding of power must be discontinued.

The ANC’s Zizi Kodwa issued a statement on behalf of the parties in which statecapture and corruption is blamed as well as Eskom’s incompetence to thrive. During the meeting of partners, the failure of local government was criticised as well as the inability to provide basic services.

In terms of power, the country has already spent billions of Rand in recent weeks, and Ramaphosa’s efforts to attract investors are being harmed by the power supply that is extremely unreliable.
