A search was launched for the suspects responsible for a spate of truck hijackings in the Delmas area of Mpumalanga.
According to Brig. Police spokesman Leonard Hlathi, two trucks from the same company transported soy from Bronkhorstspruit to Standerton was hijacked on the R50 on Monday evening at about 20:30.
The AfriForum neighborhood watch in Wit Rivier, in collaboration with the SAPS today, found a Toyota Fortuner that was used during a farm attack.
Wit rivier – According to Hennie Bekker, the district coordinator of Lowveld AfriForum, a farmer was checking the border fences on his farm when he was robbed.
An unknown number of suspects jumped from another vehicle, arrested the farmer and then drove off with his vehicle. The farmer was left unharmed in the attack that took place at around 10pm last night.
The White River neighborhood watch was notified of the attack and robbery on Sunday evening just before midnight, and launched a search for the suspects who were allegedly armed.

A fifty-year-old man and two women described by police as the protagonists in Monday’s kidnapping drama of 6-year-old Amy-Leigh de Jager were arrested at their homes in Vanderbijlpark on Wednesday, September 4, around midnight.
Amy-Leigh was grabbed from school by her mother, Angeline, just after 7:15 a.m. Monday morning, and kidnapped by four men in a Toyota Fortuner with darkened panes. She was found crying along the road at the Shakespeare Inn in Faraday Boulevard, Vanderbijlpark, on Tuesday, September 3, by a man and a woman.
A teacher at College Park Primary School in Vanderbijlpark is reportedly one of three suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Amy.
Police did not want to respond to allegations by Wednesday afternoon that the elementary school teacher – who is believed to be a good friend of the family – was involved in the kidnapping.

Police on Friday evening, 26 July 2019, traced and arrested two suspects in Hillbrow in a follow-up operation after police had earlier in the day recovered protective gear used by the South African Police Service Public Order Police at a block of flats in Hillbrow. The members found at Cape Agulhas building 24 SAPS helmets, 12 SAPS riot shields, and drugs including dagga, abandoned in a store room.
Police earlier in the day conducted an OKae Molao operation where a number of buildings in Hillbrow had been flagged as generating high volumes of contact crime.
Other buildings visited were Kirribilli, Eastgate, Florence Nightingale and O’Riley; and police arrested 22 undocumented foreign nationals, two suspects for possession of and dealing in drugs. Two illegal liquor outlets were closed and liquor confiscated. Three more suspects were arrested for business robbery at Joubert.

Five people have been arrested for allegedly stealing 30 sheep, which they loaded into a taxi in Aliwal North, Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson Capt Ursula Roelofse said police followed up on information that the sheep were being transported in the taxi early on Friday morning.
The vehicle was stopped and the suspects arrested. Police recovered 30 sheep.
On 12 July 2019, at about 17:30, Mr van den Berg left to take a worker back to town, leaving his wife at home. On the way back to the farm, he stopped to open his farm gate when he was allegedly overpowered by six suspects. He was then taken back to his house where together with his wife were tied up, brutally beaten and shot. Both died at the scene.
The suspects ransacked the house and stole several items, including four (4) firearms, and the deceased’s vehicle, which was later recovered embedded in the mud in the Caledon River bed en route to Lesotho.

A call was received for a stabbing that had just occurred. Brackendowns CPF members gave chase on foot and the suspects fled towards Klipriver Road. Our Tactical team gave back-up and the suspect was successfully apprehended.
The knife used in the stabbing was found in the suspects’ possession. The victim who was stabbed was treated and transported by National Paramedics to Hospital.

Good afternoon this is my neighbor. He was attacked by his gardener at 13:40 with a ukapi knife. The gardener is from Malawi and wanted money, the suspect asked for a toilet and when my neighbor turned his back to unlock the outside toilet, he was stabbed in the back from behind.

A violent farm attack took place on 20 May 2019, in Fochville, Westonaria, Gauteng province. At about 05:00, a father (55) and his daughter were attacked by more than eight suspects.
Both victims were very seriously injured during the attack. The female (17) was also brutally raped during the ordeal.
One vehicle, a ford ranger, was also robbed. There is no other information available at this stage.
