A 45-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son were arrested on Monday after beating an alleged housebreaker to death in Butterworth, Eastern Cape.

Police confirmed they were investigating a murder after a 23-year-old man, identified as Solomzi Gcanca, was killed on Wednesday, June 19.

The man was found dead in the street by community members on Wednesday evening at Ext 14B, Mcubakazi township, Butterworth.

“We were alerted of the crime after members of the community witnessed the [mother and son] beating the young man,” said SAPS spokesperson Capt Jackson Manatha.

The community was angry about what happened to Gcanca.

“The community was so angry that they wanted the woman and her son to be evicted from where they live. But we could not do that. Our job was to arrest them,” said Manatha.

Be vigilant when employing domestic workers – Domestic worker found guilty of employer’s murder

A domestic worker and two accomplices were found guilty of the murder of a Durban pensioner that took place two years ago.

Happiness Mkhize, a 35-year-old domestic worker, was found guilty of the murder of her employer in the Durban High Court on Friday.

Judge Mahendra Chetty ruled that, while she may not have participated in the killing, she acted with one purpose with the killers.

Mkhize’s accomplices Doctor Mabhida, 41, and Sibongiseni Gumbi, 31 were also found guilty of murder and aggravated robbery.

State advocate Khatija Essack presented evidence that Mkhize brought the two men to the home of Shallcross pensioner, Menrani Brijlal, under the pretense of buying a fridge. Once inside the residence, the assailants bound and gagged Brijlal. An investigation of the crime scene found the elderly woman had been struck on the head with a brick and strangled with an apron.

Western Cape farmers are being slaughtered by barbaric savages during cruel ongoing farm attacks while ANC regime is blindly looking away

Over the past few months, the Western Cape’s farmers have become the target of the savages that is murdering  innocent people.

This weekend another farmer was murdered, and the reason why the genocide continues is very simple.

The murderers are in most cases unemployed, struggling to make a living, and knowing if they are caught or later arrested means imprisonment.

For many, jail sentence is an “outcome” from the miserable situation they are in and is not a punishment for everyone.

The murder of Stefan Smit (62) is an example of what is happening because nothing was stolen during the murder attack. However, it is known that he has opposed a land claim, and there is a suspicion that the land grabbers are behind the entire attack.

Earlier, when the carrier of a poster, “We want Land,” was asked what was he going to do with the ground when he got it, he could not answer the question.

Zama-Zama’s blamed for murder of young couple on the Putfontein off-ramp on the N12

As police continue to hunt for the killers of a young couple who were shot in their vehicle, allegations are that the perpetrators could have been illegal miners operating in the area.

This comes after it was alleged that the killers ran towards the direction of an abandoned mine after the attack.

A post on the Concerned Residents of the South Facebook page also suggested that the attackers were illegal miners (Zama-Zama’s).

The victims, a 19-year-old man and his 23-year-old girlfriend were shot and killed by unknown attackers on the Putfontein off-ramp on the N12 on Sunday.

It’s believed that the man had called his father to help him with diesel after running out of fuel and on arrival, the father found his son and girlfriend both dead.

Their bakkie was also set alight with their bodies inside after the attack.

How low can you go? – Free State father hired hit-man to “take out” son since he did not want to continue paying maintenance

A father who did not want to continue paying maintenance after he retired as a teacher has been sentenced to life behind bars for arranging the murder of his own son.

Kearabetswe Molatole, 17, was found dead at his father’s home in Gladstone, Thaba ‘Nchu, in the Free State after soccer practice in April 2017.

Kelebogile Molatole, 50, Khoeliea-Marena Sefuthi, 53, and Tebogo Molatole, 47, were each sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday for the murder of Molatole’s son.

Free State police spokesperson Col Thandi Mbambo said the teenager’s cousin left him after soccer practice to buy soft drinks at a shop.

“On his return he found Kearabetswe lying in a pool of blood in the back room of his father’s house … Police were summoned and it was discovered that the boy had been shot in the head and chest,” Mbambo said in a statement.
