In a seemingly sarcastic new tweet on Monday, the singer on Monday said he had ‘reversed’ his original post.

The governing ANC said it would on Monday lay charges against Afrikaans musician Steve Hofmeyr for his “racist and inhumane” rants on social media directed at ambassador to Denmark Zindzi Mandela and DA (Democratic Alliance) MP (Member of Parliament), Phumzile Van Damme.

The ANC said in a statement: “Hofmeyr issued death threats against South Africa’s Ambassador to Denmark, Zindzi Mandela-Hlongwane and DA MP Phumzile Van Damme. The ANC urges South Africans to isolate people that continue to promote racism in our country and remains resolute in its campaign of building a non-racial, democratic and prosperous society.

Steve Hofmeyr criticized Mandela after her outburst against whites on social network – as taxpayer they are obliged to obey his orders

Steve Hofmeyr, the well-known Afrikaans singer, has become grievous over the past few days with his remarks on Twitter and did not hesitate to address the ambassador Zindzi Mandela.

In a word struggle he made Mandela, and the DA’s Van Damme understand that he was a taxpayer, and therefore they would be obliged to obey his orders.

He said in a Twitter comment he was a taxpayer, their boss, and so they would jump when he said jump, and they must then ask how high they should jump.

Steve’s attack on the two follows after Mandela had made racist rants on the network against whites, which also led to several institutions demanding that Mandela must be fired.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation has noted the tweets posted by South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark, Zindzi Mandela, but said it had no intention of requestion a meeting with her.

The tweets, which caused quite a stir, contained phrases calling white South Africans are “land thieves” and “apartheid apologists” who are just like “unwelcome guests”.

The 59-year-old daughter of former president Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela added that white people were making a mistake by clinging to their “good native” fantasies, and that it was time black South Africans took their land back.

“Whilst I dine and wine here … wondering how the world of shivering land thieves is doing,” Mandela wrote on Twitter on Thursday night.

Her tirade on the social media platform started with the following words: “Dear Apartheid Apologists, your time is over. You will not rule again. We do not fear you. Finally #TheLandIsOurs.”
