A 23-year-old Cape Town woman, living right across the Table View police station, phoned the police’s 10111 emergency number at 06:17 on Wednesday morning, and pleaded for help as she suspected a burglar was in her house. Until her bitter shock, the operator dropped the phone call after 25 seconds, without giving any assistance.

According to a report from Netwerk24, the petrified woman once again dialled the 10111 number and told the operator on the other side that she had heard someone in her home and that she suspected it was a burglar and begged for help. The police officer who answered the phone first wanted her contact details, requested confirmation that someone was in the woman’s house, and then asked her to spell her address before sending the police.

‘Abusive’ wife sets husband’s car alight outside police station while he tried to open a protection order against her

A 47-year-old woman appeared in court on Tuesday after she allegedly set her husband’s car alight outside the Boksburg North police station at the weekend.

Police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube said the husband went to the police station on Sunday to seek help, saying he had been abused by his wife.

Ramaube said while the man tried to open a protection order against her, she went outside and set his Nissan bakkie alight.

“The woman is alleged to have set her husband’s car alight, which at the end affected one police officer’s car very badly.

“A community member who witnessed the [incident] alerted the police who then (searched for her and) … arrested her a few miles from the station,” he said.

The woman faces a charge of malicious damage to property.

The double ‘D’ (dumb, dumber, dumbest) burglar ever:- Would-be burglar caught red handed inside EC police station

The 32-year-old man was caught red-handed after an officer saw him on the CCTV camera scaling the police station fence.

Storms River police arrested a would-be burglar after he broke into their police station during the early hours of Thursday (23/5/2019) morning.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the 32-year-old man was nabbed shortly before 1am after he was caught red-handed inside the police station administration offices.

“A member working at the Community Service Centre spotted someone on the CCTV monitor scaling a boundary fence at the back of the police station and immediately summoned other colleagues for assistance.

“It is alleged that a suspect forced open a window and entered one of the offices in the administration block,” he said.

“The suspect was then arrested inside the office while busy disconnecting a computer. Police also recovered two memory sticks inside his pocket.”

MBOMBELA – Five suspects are at large after they escaped from the cells in Nelspruit Police Station on Friday night.

They somehow managed to break a piece of a cement slab inside a cell and use it to break the wall.

Capt Zandile Qwaga, Nelspruit police spokesman, confirmed that the incident occurred at around 23:55.

She explained that they somehow managed to break a piece of a cement slab inside a cell and use it to break the wall. Once through the wall, another wall stood between them and freedom, which was easily jumped. All but one suspect took to the streets.

Bongani Matsimbe, a 23-year-old among the escapees, was rearrested shorty after the incident. A witness saw him jump the wall, and he will now face additional charges after being rearrested. He was initially apprehended for possession of stolen property.
