The decision of the ANC government to continue to amend legislation on section 25 of the Constitution – which deals with expropriation without compensation – is short-sighted.
According to Vryburger, a motion on the ad hoc committee to review and implement the amendments to the legislation has been approved by the National Assembly today. The committee will continue where the fifth parliament ceased in December 2018, and should report back to the National Assembly by the end of March 2020.
