What did Cyril “Father Christmas” Ramaphosa know and when did he know it? He is and was a big shareholder in MTN through Shanduka and now Pembani. Charges in connection with contravening American legislation against terrorism has been laid against MTN in America as well as a civil lawsuit by American soldiers and civilians.

The charges are very specific and it is clear all the evidence is there. We could see people go to jail and MTN having to pay billions of dollars in compensation. It all has to do with MTN in Afghanistan bribing the Taliban so that the Taliban don’t attack their infrastructure. MTN for instance paid the Taliban $2,000 per cellphone tower not to attack it.

Forensic audits which were conducted by Nigerian authorities raised red flags with both Shanduka and MTN – two companies Cyril Ramaphosa has been heavily involved in.

MTN accused of paying protection money to the Taliban, a designated terrorist organisation known to have been working with al-Qaeda.

The company is among several multinationals facing a US lawsuit on behalf of killed or wounded US military in Afghanistan.

SUMMARY:
A civil lawsuit brought in the US says MTN paid protection money to the Taliban and actively helped its fighters from being detected by US counter-insurgency forces

The company, along with five other Western businesses, have been accused in a US court of having violated the Anti-Terrorism Act by paying protection money to the Taliban, a designated terrorist organisation known to have been working with al-Qaeda.

The Taliban was overthrown by US-led forces in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, when the US accused Afghanistan’s ruling party of harbouring those responsible for the attacks. Those not killed went into hiding before launching a prolonged counter-insurgency
