Kusile power station is a total failure because former Eskom boss gave a R800m tender to his stepdaughter’s company.
It appears that Eskom’s former head, Matshela Koko guaranteed a R6.5 billion contract if they were to subcontract the company to a company partly owned by his stepdaughter.
The stepdaughter’s company is registered as Impulse International. Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), a Swiss company, made the statement during a report to the Special Investigation Unit.
ABB is one of eleven companies currently being investigated for theft at Eskom.
Impulse International twice failed a subcontractor questionnaire with 59% and 43% and the company’s work at Kusile power station was rated as substandard quality and hopelessly overpriced.
