A social worker had handed in a report to a parole committee which stated that Moeketsi Maluka (34) was reformed and had regret for the criminal deed he had done after he was sent to jail in 2007. As a result he was released early in February of this year, and 10 months later, on 5 November, he was one of 4 farm attackers who shot Pieter dead and mortally wounded his son Eddie on the farm Zwartpan at Hennenman. Eddie died from his injuries the next week.
