Seventeen of the 67 subjects in the matric exam of 2018 marks were adjusted upwards and eleven subjects’ marks were adjusted downwards.
This means that 25% of the total subjects ‘marks have been adjusted upwards, while nearly 42% of all subjects have been adjusted – it is not reported which subjects’ marks have been adjusted upwards but it is unhesitatingly believed that these are the subjects most students have written such as Languages, Science, Biology, IT and History.
This indicates that subjects that are mainly required to be admitted to higher education have been adapted. The fact that 28 subjects’ marks have been adjusted upwards is not a good testimonial for examiners and moderators. It seems that the knowledge here is also being drained. Even leftist Jonathan Janse says a matric certificate is worth nothing.
