Hand in the till? The Road Accident Fund is yet another parasitic parastatale hijacked by ANC gangsters, to openly fleece and rob the taxpayer. RAF’s debt is now getting as bad as Eskom debt levels and lawyers are in on the looting, getting about a quarter of its yearly income, with a self inflicted debt rising to R800 BILLION in the next 5 years! Will they plunder our pension funds to pay this corruption fueled debt too?

Even without the 56 murders a day, rapes and violence, the ANC is the greatest virus that ever hit South Africa, or any other country for that matter. The Corona virus is a storm in a teacup compared against the havoc that the ANC has wreaked on South Africa in the last 26 years. About R1 billion fraudulent applications  is suspected in Road Accident Fund – more than 514 cases investigated

The Road Accident Fund, which is funded directly from fuel levies, has announced that around R1 billion is involved in fraudulent applications in the 2017/18 financial year.

About 514 cases are currently being investigated by the SAPS. Investigations by the Fraud Division of the Fund led to a large number of lawyers being scrapped from the role and doctors and police officers arrested.

The corruption and theft will not come to an end, and the billion rand lost by this is probably the main reason for the ultimate junk status in South Africa.

Double trouble for South African motorists, you can expect a massive petrol price increase in April, warns AA

A massive petrol price increase is expected to hit South Africa in April, says the Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa.

It’s not an April fool’s day prediction; the petrol price will be going up again next month. While consecutive fuel hikes have become the beleaguered norm in South Africa, April’s looming rise is expected to wreak havoc on motorists and consumers alike.

As explained by the AA, the country was already facing a petrol price increase, in part, due to the weakening rand and the rising cost of crude oil. While these factors are bad enough on their own, the introduction of revised fuel levies, attached to the pumps from April onwards, is set to push South Africa beyond the threshold of reasonability.

Studying mid-month data released by the Central Energy Fund (CEF), the AA issued a foreboding statement on Friday afternoon. Dulling the weekend’s glimmer, the AA stated:

SA motorists brace yourself for big fuel tax increases the coming months – seems like the ANC-regime wants to recoup their loses by taxing you more on fuel levies

Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, will deliver the Budget Speech 2019 in Cape Town on 20 February.

Expectations are high that he will balance competing expenditure priorities to stimulate economic growth in spite of fiscal consolidation measures.

However, the former central banker’s task is formidable and he will likely have a difficult balancing act on his hands.

One of the key balancing acts will be how Mboweni tackles the issue of the fuel levy.

In an analysis of the upcoming budget, PwC tax experts noted that the general fuel levy has been increased significantly in each of the four previous budgets as a means of raising additional tax revenues.

“The general fuel levy is only slightly progressive and was previously seen as being less politically sensitive than VAT,” PwC said.
