EFF clash with FF+ after member calls Afrikaans a “disturbing” language and the language of the white oppressor

Tempers flared during the arts and culture budget debate on Tuesday, just five days after the EFF caused some thoroughly unsavoury scenes in Parliament by confronting Pravin Gordhan. Thankfully, this latest altercation with the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) remains only a war of words – but civility is still lacking.

As FF+ MP Heloise Jordan began speaking, she was interrupted several times by EFF representatives who objected to her use of Afrikaans. The disruption also came just a few days after the red berets’ Josephine Mokwele said that the language was a “disturbing” one, claiming she would “never respect it”

Julius Malema says EFF ‘would take up arms’ to control South Africa – “Where there’s a need to use violence to stop violence, we will use it!”

When Julius Malema hits fifth gear, it’s very unlikely that any words he uses will come out minced. The EFF leader delivered on his most fiery press conferences in recent memory, attacking opposition parties, the media and even some of their own members.

Juju blasted the DA over reports they are fining homeless people for sleeping in pedestrian walkways. He said the move was an “extremely stupid statement”, and used it as a segue to announce that the red berets would no longer side with the Blues in any of their power-sharing municipalities.

The imperfect relationship has all but ended. Their alliances in Nelson Mandela Bay, Tshwane and even Johannesburg have started to crumble. But the theme of power and control raised its head once again when Julius Malema spoke about the EFF’s identity.

EFF supporters accused of heckling, bullied and dragged by men in EFF T-shirts on elderly voters (video])

Unacceptable behavior from the red berets. EFF accuses IEC of orchestrating repeat votes with ANC. This video popped up on social media at around the same time the red berets issued a statement condemning the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) for allegedly allowing elderly voters who got the opportunity to cast their special vote on Monday and Tuesday, to do so again on Election Day.

“The EFF has picked a sustained trend where people who voted during the past two days as special voters, are now voting again today.

“For instance, in Meadowlands, Meadowlands Welfare Centre (32870549) ward 45, EFF Party Agents had to stop elderly people who voted during the special voting day, when they entered the station transported by ANC hired taxis,” the party claimed in a statement.

SONA: Round 3 – The Circus Returns as EFF Threaten To Remove Ramaphosa as President!

EFF chairperson Dali Mpofu on Thursday reiterated party leader Julius Malema’s warning that the red berets may disrupt President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on February 7.

“He must come clean before SONA, otherwise we will invoke ordinary parliamentary proceedings and have SONA converted into a presidential question-and-answer session,” Mpofu told Talk Radio 702’s breakfast host Bongani Bingwa on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Malema warned that “chaos could erupt again at this year’s SONA”, owing to recent corruption allegations that emerged at the commission of inquiry into state capture.

Malema warned Ramaphosa to come clean on his “dealings with facilities company Bosasa”.

The EFF leader was addressing the media at a briefing at the party’s headquarters in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
