Much like Champagne Socialists, #TheAfricanWay also seems to be party until taxpayer’s money runs out, then blame the whites! The Free State is a perfect example of what Trump meant with the term sh*thole, with plundered into bankruptcy municipalities, like Mangat-in, MaLOOTi-a-Poefie and Meteens-soos-myholo being perfect examples of where South Africa as a whole is headed.

The National Council of Provinces, which is yet another useless trough eating quango (created purely to extract salaries, fees and expenses), is going to visit the Malooti-a-Poefie municipality in the Free State. The municipality is responsible for the MISmanagement and looting of the Harrismith, Kestell and QuaQua areas. As small as it is, Malooti-a-Poefie owes Eskom a massive R 5, 2 Billion and electricity is stolen on such a large scale, that it is feared that the network could totally collapse. When the 400 newly elected members of the national assembly, and 90 members of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), are sworn in on May 22, they can expect a host of benefits. Aside from a minimum R1.1 million annual salary, each member will also get accommodation, travel expenses and transport for their dependents.

Khuthala Noah, parliamentary media relations manager, told Business Insider South Africa that the benefits are continually reviewed and updated to cater for changing needs.

She said perks for the upcoming MP term include:

88 domestic journeys per year which can either be by air, train, bus or vehicle.
Transport to and from South African airports.
Parking at South African airports.
Transport of dependents.
Relocation costs.
“Tools of trade”, which include mobile phones, tablets and laptops.
Equipment, furniture and stationery for MPs’ offices inside the national assembly.
