Based on the latest murder statistics Cape Town has suffered more murders in 2019 than any other city around the world. Once we were admired, now we live in fear of criminals. We have allowed corrupt and racist politicians to tax us into extermination while the economy collapses.
When will we stand up and free ourselves from these shackles?
The Western Cape government is working on a number of interventions to curb the rising rate of murder in the province.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday (28 June), the province’s minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, said of particular concern was the reported spike in crime and murders specifically attributed to gangsterism.
“Between November 2018 and May 2019, there were 2,302 recorded murders,” he said. “The vast majority of these murders were gang-related.”
