When Julius Malema hits fifth gear, it’s very unlikely that any words he uses will come out minced. The EFF leader delivered on his most fiery press conferences in recent memory, attacking opposition parties, the media and even some of their own members.
Juju blasted the DA over reports they are fining homeless people for sleeping in pedestrian walkways. He said the move was an “extremely stupid statement”, and used it as a segue to announce that the red berets would no longer side with the Blues in any of their power-sharing municipalities.
The imperfect relationship has all but ended. Their alliances in Nelson Mandela Bay, Tshwane and even Johannesburg have started to crumble. But the theme of power and control raised its head once again when Julius Malema spoke about the EFF’s identity.
