As South Africa enters the top 20 in countries affected by the CCPvirus, panic seems to have spread in the Ramaphosa cabinet where serious differences have developed among members of the Cabinet, with regards to the handling of the pandemic response. This is further compounded by their lack of experience, knowledge and respect for procedural and constitutional regulations, resulting in 116 cases where the ANC government has been taken or threatened with court! The Covid-19 pandemic does not accept lies and sweeping mistakes under the “racism” carpet, which ANC normally gets away with.

Ever wondered who was paying for ministers and deputy ministers’ cleaning materials, internet services, DStv and cell phones?

Dondo Mogajane … apparently obliged to exchange two BMW X5’s.

Even former ministers and their deputies’ free flights can cost the taxpayer as much as R17 million a year, according to the updated version of the ministerial handbook, which was approved by Cabinet on 8 June.

The ANC initially tried to stop opposition parties from seeing the textbook, when someone put it on the internet this week.

According to the new handbook, the state will pay “equipment” such as “mobile rental”, fax machines, DStv and internet and WiFi services for ministers, their deputies, premiers and MECs.

Spending on DStv Premium alone can therefore cost a total of R129 000 per month.

The report of the Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture will be tabled to Cabinet before being released publicly.

President Cyril Ramaphosa and Deputy President David Mabuza on Tuesday received the report of the Presidential Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture.

The task of the panel, which was appointed in September 2018 to support the work of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on land reform chaired by the deputy president, was to advise it on a broad range of policy matters, including restitution, redistribution, tenure security and agricultural support.

Land reform report to be tabled before Cabinet
It was mandated to review, research and suggest models for the government to implement a fair and equitable land reform process that redresses the injustices of the past, increases agricultural output, promotes economic growth and protects food security.

Flurry of ANC MP resignations spurred on by substantial pension benefits – It’s a case of ‘getting out while the going is still good’

The ruling African National Congress (ANC) has been hit with a flurry of parliamentary resignations, with nine members officially exiting the National Assembly.

In the wake of a particularly grim electoral showing, President Cyril Ramaphosa has been left to confront an arduous task – that of reunifying the deeply divided ANC, while producing positive results on his pre-election promises.

Nine ANC MP’s call it a day
The factional battle raging fiercely within the belly of the ANC is, according to analysts, the greatest threat to Ramaphosa’s political aspirations. Indeed, the insecure power balance – hung on the scales of unshakable loyalty – has already proven especially detrimental to Ramaohosa’s campaign of renewal.

While the recent flurry of resignations may, at first glance, signal a sincere attempt at cleaning house – with some persuasion from the ANC’s Integrity Committee – the truth of the exodus may be far simpler.

Ramaphosa’s cabinet is smaller – Zuma’s 36 ministers are reduced to 28, 50% of cabinet members are women

The ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa, announced his new cabinet which is considerably smaller than the one with which Zuma bankrupted the country.

What is surprising is that Ramaphosa has appointed his benefactors, with or without clarity of their innocence.

Mabuza is the deputy president because during the ANC meeting, Ramaphosa was elected president by giving 300 votes from the Eastern Transvaal.

Pravin Gordhan was re-admitted to the cabinet amid the fact that his name has not yet been honored with the court case against the PP.

The appointment of De Lill, the leader of Good Party as minister, is a strange phenomenon, especially since there is no record that the ANC has had good discussions.

Zuma’s 36 ministers have been reduced to 28 ministers, and 50% of the cabinet consists of women.
